Youtube videos can introduce any number of small artifacts, from cameras or compression. Your assertion that a youtube video could be used for what you're trying to use it for is pretty ridiculous. Crappy cameras have weird ccd scan rates that could introduce tearing easily, flash video...
ugh, my power supply is dying AGAIN! I think it's only been a little over a year. Trying to decide whether to just buy a U2412 and be through with this soyo garbage.
good christ, as bad as the location bar implementation was for link URLs, BLINKING SHIT ON THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER IS WAY WORSE! What were they thinking!?
It looks like it is stretching to the wrong aspect ratio *AND* overscanning. That's pretty bad. Look at the oval HUD elements -- they are kind of more like circles. Here is what it is supposed to look like: http://media.crispygamer.com/screenshot/Title6605/932981_20090415_790screen003-640x.jpg...
The driving electronics in this thing are definitely the weakest link. Normally I would point to drivers, but if it just started doing this randomly and it is for SURE not a driver problem, your monitor may have just kicked the bucket.
Mine is starting to do little blackouts even though I...
TNs usually have absolutely terrible vertical viewing angles, while they usually have decent horizontal viewing angles.
If you intend to turn them sideways, TN won't work. TN's become practically unusable when turned sideways. Each of your eyes will see different colors and all of the screens...
Matrix, you could just do it three separate times, or you could fill out the order form. I only needed one, so I don't know about the order form. riredale on this thread http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=28274688&postcount=193 has confirmed that the units ordered from taobao are the...
Anyone who has this monitor, now is your chance!
Taobao has recognized the demand for replacement power supplies put forth by slickdeals/soyo owners and has made the purchase process EXTREMELY SIMPLE. 1-click!

Yes, all of your "display turning off" and "need cold restart to get it working" problems are due to the PSU overheating, and the PSU will most likely die. Player-2 is going to get us all the revised unit. If you want a working Soyo in the future, I would jump on the opportunity before it's too...
Vertical height is what matters. I think if you want a panel that is truly "better" than 16:10 24" 1920x1200 you will need AT LEAST 27" 2560x1440 16:9 panel. For proof: http://tvcalculator.com/index.html?b6099e4f60a5ee33e7c6cec0278bdac0
This is a great deal. This guy doesn't seem scammy. He has an 8 year old paypal account, few year old ebay account with >200 positive feedback, and a business website with a phone number. He also has pictures of the revised power supply. Seems like an absolute stroke of luck to find this...
Has anyone received a NEW unit with A01 from Dell? I was going to wait for the ZR24W, but honestly, that will probably be a crap-shoot (I've heard HP has some quality control issues) and good reviews could take months to come out.
Edit: Nevermind, the guy on the previous page received an A01 on...
Mine also died of a supposed power supply issue. The panel was still excellent til the end. Such a shame. It's sitting in the corner. I try to power it up ever now and then, but nobody is home. Using my tiny 14" laptop screen day to day is becoming too much a chore. I may have to replace the SOYO
My LCD is toast, this one looks like the best bet. Is there any reason to wait for this model over the LP2475w though, other than price? Will this panel be better? Worse? Any ideas? I'm in sore need of a new monitor, and if there isn't much difference I will be willing to drop the additional...
Hi guys, I just had my old monitor (p-mva with 0 input lag) die. I'm looking to replace it, but I have a few questions because I'm new to dell.
1. How is dell's return/exchange policy with dead/stuck pixels?
2. How is the input lag on this monitor? Is there a game mode?
3. I've heard there...
mine died today, bizarrely. just will not turn on. no power LEDS, nothing. very odd. judging by the thread it must be a power supply issue.
i dont have the repair skills to fix it. seems like such a shame to throw away a perfectly good LCD :/ awell. thing didnt have HDCP anyway, I guess.
I know raid5 isn't the fastest when it comes to copying. I have a gigabyte ep45-ud3p and 3 1TB drives in RAID5 on ICH10R. I get about ~50 mb/sec writes and ~160 reads according to atto. What I *didn't* expect is that the system becomes *completely unusable* when I copy files to the system drive...
anybody get this thing to work with windows 7 and VGA? Windows won't let me choose a resolution above 1600x1200. Tried this but I still cannot increase the resolution http://nitoprograms.blogspot.com/2008/07/soyo-widescreen-monitor-inf-available.html Custom resolutions don't seem to work in the...
anyone find a solution to this? having trouble getting a 24" LCD to work off a VGA port on my laptop above 1600x1200. nvidia custom resolution does not work. nothing works. grrrr
mastrdrver, this was with the latest 9.2 driver package. although when i tried to reproduce it in windows 7, i was using the Win7 preview package, which i think is 8.12
This bug is pretty bizarre. I deleted my entire profile directory (documents/my games/crysis) and then started a new game and the bug went away. But after about halfway through the first level, speed and armor had lost their shaders (on the hands and legs too if you look down) and gone into flat...
All I can do is press the shutter button on a camera lots of times at high ISO. This allows me to take a shot at a very precise moment in time. The screen is only updated at 60hz. As you can see above, 12 out of 16 times the lcd and crt are showing the same thing. But 4 out of 16 times they are...
INPUT LAG TEST RESULTS
For P-MVA 6MS screen
Result: Amazing. SOYO is behind 4 out of 16 pictures taken, and when it is behind, it is behind by ~5-15ms, or <1 frame at 60fps. Average is like 3.75 ms lag. Definite gaming LCD!
VGA works perfectly here. I am apt to blame the cable you are using if you have problems. I bought a cable from circuit city for $30 and it was horrible, ghosting and shimmering abounded. I ordered one from monoprice.com and it just came, all of my problems went away!
The only thing I hate about this monitor is the source switch (in the OSD). I would much rather have the highlight button be a source switch, as "MODE" would indicate! I'm wondering if it would be possible to mod a source switch by hooking an old programmable SNES controller to the OSD controls :P
when i look at a tn, i can clearly see that both of my eyes often aren't seeing the same image. i can also see that black on the top of the screen is different from black on the bottom. these things annoy me significantly; the difference is not JUST apparent at extreme angles.
image inversion from the bottom is telltale TN. I could tell from the side to be honest: you definitely have a TN. Sorry! Even then it's still not a bad deal, its just not an AMAZING deal like it was before.
did that guy ever make the custom enclosure?
Two things
1) Has anyone done any image delay tests with the Soyo PMVA? I'm curious about how bad the lag is, but don't have a CRT to take pictures with.
2) Does anyone have pictures of the Soyo with a custom stand?
