Hey there Bill - well, we started working this issue in November, seemed to get a fix and now it is BACK with a vengence.
BSOD or total freeze up after boot up. It may take anywhere from 5-20 minutes to happen but when it does, thats all you get.
We worked extensively on Bios settings...
Yes, I know where the restore points are BUT my calendar has no bolded dates despite the Restore being activated.
I did do a repair install and that got me back to the net BUT my computer is still infected with some sort of spyware that is popping up every now and then....

I will try it through F8...maybe I can get it that way?
As I said in the first part of this post, if I go to system restore point - the only point I see is the last time I logged onto the computer. All other restore points and dates are GONE.
Yes this is an XP SP2 machine.
Yes, I can confirm the network adapter is installed. I can enable and disable it.
Winsock. Got it and installed it but nothing happened...after I restarted, it gave me all the same warnings.

I rebooted the computer...
After a very slow reboot (stuck...
Here is what I did overnight - I turned OFF the screensaver and let the computer remain on overnight. (I turned the monitor off)
This morning, I turned the monitor back on, wiggled the mouse and it came to life right away.
So - seems like the Screen Saver is the issue but why? I dont know.
Ok - this has been happening quite a bit -
I have WinXP SP2.
I have the screen saver set to turn on after 5 minutes. Sometimes I use My Picture Slide Show and most recently I changed it to Blank Screen. It doesn't matter.
The monitor is set to shut off after 1 hour.
The hard drive is...

Bill - I still get this darn error for no reason. It seems to rotate between a RAM issue and a device driver..
This problem was caused by an error in your computer's random access memory (RAM). Microsoft is unable to determine if this problem was caused by a hardware or software issue...
Random error caused my computer to shutdown while sitting at the desktop.
Here is what Windows Error Reporting gave me:
Problem caused by Device Driver

Couldn't get them off the NAS BUT as I was sulking, I had a stroke of genius - just recover the deleted files from the memory card.
It worked like a champ! All pictures recovered with the program - File Scavenger ($49.95).
HELP! I accidentally deleted some pictures from my Maxtor Shared Storage device.
I have a 500GB network storage drive connected to my Router through an RJ45 cable.

Any help out...

Another update: I turned the computer on this morning and was able to play Team Fortress 2 for 2 - 3 hours without it every shutting down or having any issues. Suddenly things are better...BUT notice the error I received at the end of this post.
