Nixeus 30 - NX-VUE30
I've always wanted a 30". I want to game at 1600p. Building a new pc soon. Will a AMD 290 run games on high at 1600p? Is this...
Current set up:
Q6600 running at 3Ghz
6 GB DDR 2 ram (2x1Gb and 2x2Gb)
9800 GT 512MB
I can barely run the Witcher 2 with this set up. Have to keep it to the min settings.
What would be the best choice $/power for my set up? (Canada)
- gtx650ti - $160
- r7 260x - $160
- hd7850 -...

What is the bottle neck here? Should I upgrade the GPU? Will I get enough of a performance boost to justify the...
Good points! Thanks for the input. It does seem a bit early. Id rather build something like this than buy a PS4 as i believe in the steam platform. Im planning on throwing something together and playing with the steam beta. Then upgrading it as needed over the years.
Witcher 3, Battlefield, etc...
I just threw it together quick to get an idea of how cheap I could make one.
GPU is concerning. What's wrong with the case?
Build screen cap: http://imgur.com/f3TRdOm
But will it play crysis?
Any suggestions? Price kept as low as possible. I'll be buying on boxing day! What are your favorite gaming controllers? Help much appreciated!
Pfff all wrong. 2048-bit with 2 terabytes gddr8. Approx 5 trillion trAnsistorz. Using of course 8nm process for power. Itll be powered by the pcie slot only. Guaranteed 5000% performance gain. Its actually a joint venture with amd so both companies will profit. Theyll also be adding a 4D ultra...

LOL, just had to wait a day
I think I like the Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3. The maximus is too small and I realized I would need the extra pci slots for wifi card. I currently use a gigabyte and dont really like the oc stability and options in the tweaker...
Is the P8 a good board for OCing?
Thanks for the replies
Hey guys. Which mobo with suit my need?
Essentially ill be buying a i7 2600K, 16GB of ram (4 x 4GB) and a single card dual gpu such as the 6990 or 590gtx. I'll be only have an SSD and HDD so dont need a billion sata ports
Thanks for the help!
Dell.ca has some slick deals on monitors going on... last few days theyve taken $100-$200 off their 20"-24" displays...
What are the odds we'll see the 30" on sale? I saw it down to $999 once with a $500 instant rebate but I missed out on the deal... I crossing my fingers that they throw this...
What's the best monitor for gaming/photoshop? Any good deals going on right now? Saw the dell 30 incher on sale for $1000 down from $1499 a week or so ago...
So I'm getting informed for a new build... I've narrowed my display choices down to either 1x30"+ display, but i'm leaning towards a 3x25"+ eyefinity portrait set up (as inspired by vega).
Im not adventurous enough to remove the bezels. I'm looking for 25-27" screens with the thinnest bezel...
Man so depressing that everyone hates the bulldozer, i wanted my new build to be pure amd... oh well.. just been reading through the various threads related to these two cards... The impression I'm getting from thej comments is that Nvidia is falling behind.. can't wait until Jan launch!
Well if we're dealing with similar specs between the two, 28nm process, 384bit, ~3GB, similar # of shader n texture units...
What would be the point of waiting for nvidia?
Whens the FX8170 come out? Maybe I could time the two together build a brand spanking new rig
Genius! Anyone have the current rumor-apples-to-appels specs? Are we dealing with the same technology? I've always thought of AMD having a tiny lead on Nvidia.
Is it worth the wait?
I will be building in early 2012 (tax return baby!). Gonna build a monster rig. The big question.... wait for Kepler or jump in with Tahiti?
Will Kepler be worth the wait from the rumors? What do you guys think?
Ill revive the thread closer to the purchase date.
I will also be using photoshop and illustrator 64-bit for graphic design. Dont know if the i7 would help there. Im also trying to futureproof for atleast another 3-4 years as my previous build. MOAR COARS
As for the 30' monitor just saw some...
Ill be using newegg.ca, tigerdirect.ca and my favorite: n c i x .com. (doesnt let me post it without the spaces)
I see most people recommending the i5 2500k, im guessing an i7 is not worth the money?
In terms of size Im guessing we're only talking about the mobo? Are we talking $40 or $200...
Essentially i really like the aesthetic of a shuttle pc. The boxy look is cool imo. If it were possible to fit lets say... A geforce 590 or atleast a 580 then i would go forthe shuttle.
If the shuttle cases are too small i have no problem going with a tower to fit the components/ manage heat. I...
I am building a new pc since my Q6600 build! I have been out of the loop for a few years and need some help to make the right choices!
I am having a moral dilemma. I originally wanted to build an AMD Scorpius platform (bulldozer, 9 series mobo, etc..) but after reading a lot of the reviews...
I am going to be making a new build post-xmas. Essentially I want to make a scorpius platform build (AMD bulldozer etc...)
I am throwing around the idea of having a ton of power in a small-ish size.
Can I fit a 6990 or a 6970 in any shuttle-styled PC case? If so can anyone show me any...
neither lol
i have a ps3 but only because all my freinds got one
looking back i wouldve gotten a 360, yeah you pay 50$ a year.. but you can download and burn all the games for free!! think of the money you save!
i used to use the gigabyte bios to overclock the pci-e slot.. but very little.. if at all..
as for the card oc i use the evga precision tool.. it works really well..
the gigabyte board is really good for oc because if it finds anything it doesnt like it calmly shuts down the system, tires to...
this is what i'm talking about..
http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2007/12/completelely-se.html
but i would make it at home so i could fit more shit in it.
just seal the damn thing and see what happens :)
but seriously..
i would build a custom metal case, weld everything shut, minus a side panel that you would seal
have all the components attached to or "touch" the case, using thick copper wire or whatnot
and then run the system for an hour or...
a. how do you deal with the noise?
b. point all your fans towards the cpu... :)
the heat will find a way out... just give it a shot lol..
at 3.6ghz i get 70c... but i only have one fan in my entire case...
