Hey guys. Which mobo with suit my need?
Essentially ill be buying a i7 2600K, 16GB of ram (4 x 4GB) and a single card dual gpu such as the 6990 or 590gtx. I'll be only have an SSD and HDD so dont need a billion sata ports

Thanks for the help!

How much do you want to spend? The Asus P8Z68-V is a popular choice, but a bit spendy. Gigabyte has some nice offerings at a lower price point, but with basically the same features. MSI also makes some nice boards:

Performance-wise, they are all pretty much the same, although the Gigabyte UD3 and the Asus support PCIe 3.0, if that matters to you (but it's unlikely to affect single card performance for a long time).

The Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z is my current favorite Intel motherboard out right now. Gets rave reviews everywhere and Guru3D's review claimed they got the highest overclock of a i7 on this board than on any theyve tested so far. Best of all, theyre going for $178 shipped right now on Newegg. Gotta be the best board on the market dollar for dollar or at least one of them.

if you're on a budget.. i second the genez :D

I think I like the Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3. The maximus is too small and I realized I would need the extra pci slots for wifi card. I currently use a gigabyte and dont really like the oc stability and options in the tweaker...

Is the P8 a good board for OCing?

Thanks for the replies
