anr11 you were absolutely right! I removed one of the dimms and it booted, went into bios and manually set the timings/voltage etc. Then switched off, fitted the second stick and it booted no problem. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my post I really appreciate it :)

I've just upgraded to 0901 and everything is running great, in fact it seems to boot a little faster, though that could be my imagination :D However, I am currently running everything at stock, so from an overclocking point of view, I can't really say if there's any improvement on that score.

Raptors are noisier when seeking than any 7200rpm I've heard, the 36 GB is definitely louder than the 74 GB. I have never fitted a 150 GB so I can’t comment; however, I have fitted several 36’s & 74’s and have found that the noise level depends on the case you’re fitting them in. As amdfan25...
