The problems with this board are really really starting to get to me...

Tried resetting CMOS about 37 times so far. Trying the ol' battery overnight trick now.

It is rather frustrating paying this much for components that don't work properly. I should have gone to the casino and thrown away my cash in a way that was much more enjoyable...

Well I'm posting this from my Striker. I should have exhausted all the quirky tricks available to get this board to boot before I started ranting.

As a last resort I tried the memory trick before I posted here. I thought I was immune to having to boot with lower Voltage RAM because I didn't have to do it last time (with 1002 BIOS). I have a sneaking suspicion that ASUS may have fixed the overvolting some people (including me) have had with their RAM. That then meant that the 1.8V was actually giving me around 1.8V instead of something around the 2.0V mark that I was getting with the 1002 BIOS. I think that might have been enough to drive my system to the point where it couldn't boot.

My Memory is rated for 2.4V. With the 1002 BIOS my RAM would work quite happily set on 2.275V. With this BIOS it doesn't like anything under 2.375V. I still haven't tried all 4x1GBs yet. I'll let everyone know how this BIOS goes in that configuration..

Also my Vcore is reading 1.33V in PcProbe on AUTO now whereas before it would read anywhere from 1.28V - 1.30V.

glad you got it working again, mine posted fine with 1004 though I damaged my board when installing my watercooling, a plier fell onto it ( stupid me)... cant get my stable overclock of 450FSB anymore :( ...

That sucks Leeghoofd. These boards aren't cheap either... Although you probably already knew that. I saw your cube construction too. That is starting to look fantastic and congrats on the new arrival.. :)

In the neverending saga that is the Striker Extreme - I found out today that no matter what voltage I gave my RAM at, I couldn't get it to work. Tested each stick individually and one of them doesn't work anymore. This seems a little strange to me considering I have had all four 1Gb sticks working in unison at 3-4-3-9. I was playing oblivion just fine and I Primed using the Blend test 8+ hrs and everything was all good.. Now one of them has died and I have to RMA the kit so I am back to 2Gb whether I like it or not. :(

Maybe the Strikers are cursed or something... or maybe its the chipset. We should rename it "680 evil i"... ;)
