Just want some advice before taking the plunge. I was planning to use the machine for gaming (1680x1050) and video editing / encoding. I plan to overclock moderately. My aim is also to have a relatively quiet PC. I don't do a lot of encoding/transcoding, I tend to spend more time editing. I...
Looking to build a new machine, and dual boot Vista-64 and OS X.
With the new Mac pros supporting the 4870, it seems that card would be the best compatible "gaming" card for me. (Or 9800GTX+ also has full compatibility). However both of these cards are getting older now in the Windows world...
So I built my machine about 20 months ago, when the G80s series came out in '06. It's finally starting to show its age. I want to play some of the newer games like Crysis, Mass effect, and finally make the upgrade to Windows Vista. I feel like I got an incredible performance out of the...
Hey all, I have an interesting problem.
I been benching my new MacBook Pro all day and getting very inconsistent results.
I have not overclocked the GPU at all.
it's a 8600M GT 470Mhz Core 635Mhz Memory
I have been running 3dMark05 and 06 and trying to determine what's going wrong.
I...
I got my Core 2 E6400 in November of last year, and have had my system running almost everyday (I turn it off if my PC isn't doing anything overnight).
I had it running @ 3.2Ghz (RAM 1:1) with 1.3875V in the BIOS, super smooth, no problems. Orthos was 12hr+ stable when I first tested it...
I'm interested in selling my Macbook (Black) Core Duo.
It can be configured with 512MB RAM, 1.25GB RAM, or 2GB RAM (price will vary).
It is a standard configuration, completely stock (except if you want more RAM).
80GB HD
13.3" Glossy Screen
65W MagSafe Adapter
Apple Remote...
Do you guys think its worth running 24/7 @ 3.336Ghz vs. 3.2Ghz?
According to Sandra memory bench, I get lower performance at the higher DDR2-834 than at DDR2-800.
Also I can see the temp scale up pretty quickly as soon as I hit over 3.2Ghz. I've found 3.336Ghz to be my max Orthos overnight...
Hi, I was wondering if anyone with the Asus P5N-E SLI (650i) board is using this RAM from Corsair, or if Corsair themselves have tested the RAM on this board.
Thanks!
BTW, for anyone interested, it's currently $155 after rebate @ newegg for 2GB of this RAM!!
I have a quick question about PCI-E Frequency and Northbridge Termination Voltage..
Do these affect video performance at all? Would upping these help me OC my video card more?
Currently my PCI-e is set to 100mhz and Northbridge termination voltage is set to auto..
What does RAM Bandwidth Int Buff'd iSSE2 and RAM Bandwidth Float Buff'd iSSE2 mean?
I am just wondering..
when I benchmark my rig in the sig @ 400fsb 1:1 = 3.2ghz and DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 timings, I get:
7182MB/s and 7200MB/s
when I benchmark @ 417fsb 1:1 = 3.34ghz and DDR2-834 4-4-4-12...
Anyone try this BIOS? Or know what it changed?
Wondering if I can finally pass my 417fsb wall... can't be my CPU or RAM, people are running it way higher.
I have a P5B-E and my max vdimm is 2.1v
How can I find my max RAM speeds safely? My memory is corsair xms2 ddr2-675 5400C4PT. Redbeard says it is some kind of Micron IC, but not the same one in the 8500C4 dominators.
My computer is rock solid stable @ 3.2ghz, and DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12
I...
I did a search and nothing showed up...
I want to see your G80 (GTS or GTX) results.
Ok I guess we are changing the rules to "24/7" overclocks, that you can play any games for hours etc. with no problems. Try to follow this format:
Driver Version: 97.02
Card: EVGA 8800GTS
Core Clock...
Hey, stupid question..
where is the serial # located for EVGA cards? I forgot to write down my serial # before I sent in the UPC for my rebate.. is it physically located somewhere on the card?
I ask because I may want to enroll in the step-up program.
Thanks in advance.
I was wondering if someone knew what the different "straps" are on the Asus P5B (P965). Someone has some data on it:
and link: http://www.bleedinedgesupport.com/ocz/forum/showthread.php?t=23803
I was wondering if anyone else has done some testing, it appears that the Asus p5b goes...
I have a P5B-E and I set my VCORE to 1.3875 on a E6400 @ 3.2ghz
on idle cpu-z says 1.303V and on Orthos Large FFT load it reports 1.248V!!!
from the BIOS that is a .14V drop.. I didn't realize it till now.
Anyway it seems to be stable and my orthos load temps are mid-upper 50C...
Does this sound weird to you guys.
E6400 @ 3.2Ghz (400x8) w/ AS Freezer Pro 7 pointing up towards top exhaust
Antec P180B w/ 3 antec 120mm tricool fans on medium
Scythe 1200rpm S-Flex 120mm Fan on intake
Ambient ~22C (Air Condition on)
CPU Idle 37C
Orthos load 48C

Hi, I wanted to know what you guys think I should do.
I currently have my rig at 3ghz (375x8) stable for Orthos overnight (8 hours, manually stopped it). VCore is set to 1.3875 in BIOS but CPU-Z reports 1.304v on idle and 1.264-1.288V on load. Temps are 36-37C idle 48C load.
my RAM is...
Can anyone explain to me how to enable these modes? In my Nvidia control panel (97.44, classic panel through registry hack) I only have the options to force 2x, 2xQ, and 4x Anti-Aliasing.
eVGA 8800GTS w/ 97.44 drivers
Thanks
