So, looks like they have them over in europe now, but does anyone have any idea when they'll be over here?
I'm looking for the 32" version for a comp monitor/tv use, and if it is anything like the KURO plasmas, it'll be awesome. if the wait is too long, i probably will be going with the...
as for the cave comment, well yes, what can i say, some of us nerds never really do see the light of day.
in all seriousness, i'm looking for a computer monitor to double as a display for watching movies and playing consol games. i'm looking around the 26-28, possibly 30" range, around $1000...
so, whats the largest glossy display out there?
ideally i'm in the market for a 26-28", and i guess glossy isn't the highest priorty, but i do feel they look a little better.
oh, and don't worry, my lighting conditions are under control...
while your at it, if you had any...
well, finally after all this wait, it up on thier website. check it out:
http://www.samsung.com/Products/Monitor/LCD_Digital/LS27HUBCBXAA.asp
nothing exciting. same thing we've seen for a while now as far as i can tell. at least its one step closer to making it on my desk....:)
EDIT: some...
well thats not all too encouraging... if they dont even have enough to leave a demo at their own store, how can we expect them to have enough of them to release it to the public? i'm seriously starting to doubt this february release date...
yeah for those who care or are having the same issues, i think i've fixed it for the most part. i started it up in safe mode, wrote zero's to the whole thing with WD diagnostics, reformatted, and then reinstalled the nforce drivers. so one of those must have done the trick. i wasn't too worried...
same thing for me. it works intermittently when transferring files or accessing them ( i tried unraring a file, had to quit cause it ended up freezing everything up). at least mine work for the most part now, and i have access to it. i ended up writing zeroes to the entire disk in safe mode...
yeah that is what i was looking at. was pretty surprised to see no dvi cable included... i seriously hope they toss that in when it is released. but hey, even if they don't, just buy the cable and it'll still be cheaper than dell's offering...
how did you get yours to work? Mine secondary data drive still doesn't work properly since i have switched to vista. Did you simply do a clean install of vista on your primary HD and have the secondary still work?
how did you get it to work? mine uses "different" controllers, but its teh same type (at least as it is listed in the device manager). I just opened it up and checked the cable, seems to be connected properly. worked beautifully for about 5 min after i started it up again, i was even able to...
Well, the user manual and driver's are up on the website. Lets hope it comes out soon, cause i'm looking foward to that nice sub-$1000 price tag and dynamic contrast (3000:1) option...
they are attatched to the same type of controller (although not literally the same one). after running diskmgmt, i can see that it is NOT a dynamic drive. Furthermore, it is listed as healthy.
it is on and off when it comes to working. now it seems that if i restart the computer, it will...
the reason i've blamed vista is just that it stopped working right after i installed vista. it worked perfectly fine under XP. i was just seeing if there were any other alternative reasons why this would be failing before i opened the comp up. I still dont know how the cable would have been...
i haven't tried switching out the cable yet, as i don't have a spare one lying around. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers, but it still does the same thing.
no, this is not a rig i have built. it was built through Cyberpower (at the time it was actually cheaper than building it myself considering the markup on the quadcore). these are my specs:
Processor: INTEL QUADCORE QX6700
Mobo: ASUS P5N32-E SLI QUAD 680I 775
RAM: 2X1GB CORSAIR DDR2 6400...
hey, so i had just installed windows vista, and it is giving me all sorts of issues. mostly, I cannot access my second hard drive. I have 2 hard drives, a 74 gig raptor (on which the OS is installed), and a 320 gb data drive (no RAID setup). everything worked fine under xp, but once I had...
whoa wtf? it went up ANOTHER $200????
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=CADHS1&sku=255-0479
its listed at 1599. they've got to be kidding  .....
edit: wait, nm. still listed the same on some other pages. dont know why that one still...
i would say not having a hdmi port wouldnt be too bad if they at least had a second dvi port, cause then you could just use a dongle. but the lack of other digital inputs is pretty dissapointing...
Well, I currently have a 19" CRT, and am getting either a 24" or 27" 1920x1200 monitor. I dont really have any where else to put the crt, and my desk is big enough, so i figure i might as well just leave it here and go for a dual setup. Is the 8800GTX powerful enough to run games at the full...
i just searched for 2707WFP. i couldnt find it in thier product listings, so i thought i'd search for the manual at least, and the search took me directly to that page. i seriously hope they do something to lower that price, cause its way too high. 400 more than the samsung?
Well, on thier website at least. Pricing is set WAAYYYY to high at $1400. hell, even the higher res. 30" is $100 cheaper?!?! Check it out for yourself. Otherwise, it is exactly like we have all been expecting...
Link...
so if they already accidentally posted pictures of it, does that mean its on time for a january delivery you think? right now its between this and teh BenQ, so it better be out soon...
Well it looks like the Samsung/Dell 27" monitors are coming out next month, and with a 1920x1200 resolution that gives it a .303 pixel pitch. I really want the larger size as I'll be watching a lot of movies and games on the monitor (but also doing some AutoCAD work), but is this too high of a...
how is tiger so much cheaper? $600 is a huuuggeee amount to be undercutting newegg, so how are they still in stock and why aren't they jacking up the price? ha am i missing something here? they could be making a lot more money...
yeah i'm pretty sure the DVI is also HDCP compliant. when the monitor is considered to be compliant, I dont think it means just HDMI, it means that and HDCP input can be decoded. someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm almost positive that DVI is good too.
yep, i thought about that too. as nice as the NEC 24WMXG2 would be, its going to be too expensive i think. considering the 20 in version is already 600, i'm figuring the 24 will be at least 1000-1100, and that i dont want to pay. the LG would be nice too, but once again it might be a little more...
thats hilarious, because its EXACTLY what i'm doing. I"m also getting a e6700 conroe with a 680i mobo, and a Geforce 8800 GTX. This thing was supposed to be the monitor of choice, but i think i'm going to wait for the refresh to come out. I really dont feel like having to pack it back up and...
