so, whats the largest glossy display out there?

ideally i'm in the market for a 26-28", and i guess glossy isn't the highest priorty, but i do feel they look a little better.

oh, and don't worry, my lighting conditions are under control...

while your at it, if you had any recommendations for a 26-28" display that isnt glossy, that would still be appreciated

I'm one for Glossy. Yes, there's those times where a reflection pops it's ugly head out, but it never distracts my gameplay and I don't really notice it unless I readjust my eyes to look for it or when I take a breather between maps or such. I don't think it's as bad for monitors which you sit close to, a large TV, with a larger area to catch reflections and so on, that could be a bit of a problem, at that point, cave will come in handy.
edit:
For instance, I have to crank my halogen floor lamp above 50% for me to start noticing my reflection, that's with this forum on screen. It gets annoying at 100% but I'm only seeing myself and my white wall behind me, really, still quite acceptable. I usually don't use that lamp at above 50% when I'm at PC, gaming or working.

Well, I don't like glossy screens, but let's agree that is up to personal preferences.
The larges glossy LCD I know is 24". But I'm not much into large glossy TNs :)

Samsung A650 and Panasonic LZ800 LCD TVs are glossy. Available in 1080p from 32" up.

as for the cave comment, well yes, what can i say, some of us nerds never really do see the light of day.

in all seriousness, i'm looking for a computer monitor to double as a display for watching movies and playing consol games. i'm looking around the 26-28, possibly 30" range, around $1000 price tag. i just think the glossy displays appear more vibrant...

My problem with the 27" monitors is they're too bright for me. (I like to be able to turn the brightness way down without having to lower the contrast control...)

It depends on the light level in the computer room and the control you have on it.
Glossy screens may be alright in a dark room but are terrible in a light environment.

FYI, I cannot stand glossy computer screens.

Bingo...I'm more interested in seeing the image on the screen rather than the lamp in my room...and no matter where i sit, I CAN ALWAYS SEE IT!!

so, if i werent going glossy, which of the following do you think is the best?

Dell 2709
Samsung 275T+
Hannspree HF289H
