Is there anyway to automate assigning iDrac IP addresses to dell servers? I have hundreds to setup and it would be easier if I can automate at least the network configuration part.
I have a spare Dell PowerVault 745n that works fine with the original identical 80gb drives. I am trying to use some random drives that I have so I can make a raid 5 array. I know that it will only use the smallest drives capacity in all the drives and that is fine. I have a 640GB, and 3 500GB...
I moved to OSX a while back but made a backup of my files in windows 7 using the back up and restore program built in.
I have moved that back up and restore file a couple of times through my OSX external hard drives since I only kept it as an archive in case SHTF and I need to have a...
It works great for me along with using itunes as the media server backend. My only issue is that it does not play MKVs. I use subler on my mac to remux (not re encode like handbrake) my mkv's so that they can be in a mp4/m4v container which the apple tv will play.
Its a 20" couldn't find a nice condition 23 around here and those tend to suffer from tinting issues. It was either the 20 or the 30. I plan on running 2 of them also it will be dual display again.
I had 2 2012 Dell P2412H's before and the Cinema Display is way better.
I've liked the design of...
I think we already established what this router can and cannot do. "More better, and more professional" does not say anything about how a router functions compared to another. As far as I can tell the top 5 routers in the 150-200 range all function well with only slight difference in...
I have the time capsule but for all router purposes it is exactly the same and it is great. It will do torrents all day long with no issues and works fine with windows 7. Only thing i wish it had was more advanced features like qos and other high end functions. But for a set it and forget it...
Well it would be faster if faster encoding time is (which i don't think it is in this case). I would consider it if i rendered videos since that is a chore to wait for a project to finish but movies can wait overnight. OP if you decide the new upcoming minis are too much then I can sell you my...
I have a 2011 2.3GHZ base model with 8GB of ram and it flies even while viewing 4 separate blu-ray rips. It also plays Steam Source games quite well. The new Ivy Bridge models have much better integrated graphics so the base model should suit you fine.
The quad core model would be good if you...

The phone you got is a refurb most likley. Apple refurbished products are good as new. The only thing thats "used" about them is the logic board and maybe the screen. Everything else is new and theres no way to tell if it used or not. Although I have also heard apple having...
I just got 2 of these brand new sealed for $150 each with out looking at the current prices (good deal?) My current monitor is a Dell 2208WFP which I have been wanting to replace for a dual monitor setup. The Apple 27" LED display or the equivalent 27" inch from Dell was my "dream" monitor but...
A microscopic amount. The ipad 3 has a bluetooth 4.0 chip which uses a negligible amount of power. So little that now they can use them on new G-Shock watches.
Just got U-Verse High Speed 10mbps/1mbps. However it came with a 2wire 3600HGV router/modem combo but I prefer my old apple airport + modem setup. I looked around the 2wire's GUI and it didn't have anything for Bridge Mode like other gateways I use to have. How are you setting up your U-verse to...
Genrally what does toe-ing them in and making them straight do? Should I look for the soundstage widening or closing in (like im losing the invisible center channel).
Okay thanks. I have some foam here that could elevate them. Should they be ear level or higher or lower?
What about toe in? Is it better to point them straight ahead or is there a general advice when calculating toe in?
I just got some new speakers and I was wondering what the proper placement should be for them. The slave speaker on the left has a pretty short cable and can barley reach both ends of my desk without being pulled taught. Maybe I can make a cable for it if needed. This is how they are currently...
I have a pair of Insignia NSB-2111's from 2006 because of all the rave reviews of them when they first came out.
Recently one of them died and I tried swapping out the speaker from the dead box into the other and it worked still so I'm guessing that the crossover went bad. How would I...
I use bare harddrives connected to a dock to backup my windows home server weekly. Throughout the week the computers backup to the windows home server hourly and I just make a backup of those backups into my offsite set of drives. Their then put into a vanguard hard case and locked away...
Got XmediaRecoder for my windows pc and it works awesome only takes about 15-20min per video on my P4 3.0ghz. I suppose Subler or MKVTools for OSX will work even faster on my dualcore g5 but I need to reinstall OSX first and see if that fixes the crashing.
One question though; my receiver is...
I re-encoded using handbrake and the normal profile which is what is recommended for the new 1080 apple tv. It transcoded the 11gb mk into a 6gb m4v and it works perfect with no discernible loss in quality. However it took 20 hours on my G5! What settings are you guys using?
And yes appletv...
Just got the new 1080p Apple TV and would like to convert some MKV files into mp4/m4v so that I can stream it using iTunes. I am using a ppc power mac g5 so im usually stuck on older version of software. I tried subler which supposedly works but it crashes everytime I save the video.
I would...
I am switching over to a Mac pro for my main rig and I need to transfer my files over. I know that I can simply copy all of them over through a external hard drive, but I have always used windows 7 back up and restore so that my files keep their DATE CREATED, DATE MODIFIED settings intact. What...
I'm sure its something you can fix very cheaply switches are only a couple of bucks on ebay. However there is nothing wrong with a refurb iphone at all i have had plenty. They all come brand new the only refurb about them is that the motherboard was used in another phone before but everything...
Found a couple of Mac Pros in the 700-900 range around my area but they all seem to be 2006. Should I look for a 2007 for future support? I dont need anything super fast, even this G5 is fine for me just cant do with the diminishing support like flash or netflix.
I got this G5 as a trade for a laptop that i never used anyway so no loss and my computer (P4 presscot 3.0ghz 2gigs ram 7800GS) is way old anyway, about as old as this g5, so I decided to try it out to get a feel for OSX and so far im loving it! Just gotta get used to using older software that...
Ok thats good enough as long as its faster than my skt 478 P4 3.0ghz. Just sucks you cant keep upgrading the os no matter how old the system is like a pc.
