smcfancontrol and i5

I don't see any real problems, no kernel panics or anything. In fact, googling doesn't bring up any mention of widespread issues really, and this thread pops up on the first page of google when searching "SMCfancontrol i5" which doesn't really make me think there are any issues between the two because of how much google would be saturated with posts about it. In fact I found a couple mentions of people using it on an i5 just fine.

So I dunno what that poster was talking about? :confused:

curious to hear the answer as well. also wondering if the reasons it shouldn't be used on i5 apply to older procs as well.
