I've had this setup for quite some time, but now that I'm doing a lot more streaming and encoding, my pal just can't keep up anymore and as such it's time to replace it.

So regarding WSUS, apparently there are two factors here; Time Management / Selection and Selective Patching.
They mentioned that they want to be able to stagger the patching times as well as being able to select which servers get patched and at what time. But I thought you could schedule...
Exactly. As mentioned, Vmware will not use VHD, it can only take an OVF/OVA or VMDK files. But for what you're doing, you just need to run it through the vmware converter and you're done. A simple P2V.
I've done this several times, i'll explain what I did.
1. I've setup my router and set it up as the DHCP and gave it the ip of 192.168.1.1. You have to do this via direct connect / assign a 192.168.1.x IP to your computer and plug it directly into your new router.
2. Once that is done, log...
I forgot to add there is an issue with using WSUS, the engineers and operation team have not explained why but it has a lot to do with our infrastructure.
Thanks for feedback on ManageEngine as well, I'll cross that off my list.
Morning HardForum Folks,
My company is looking for a solution to assist us in patching Windows 2008/2012 servers, across several locations in the North American region. Currently this is a manual patching progress that involves 10+ servers and it's getting a bit dry. So I'm going to try and...
Hello All,
I got a few items here that I'm looking to offload. Not looking for any trades, just want to sell off these items so I can "Fund" my new build. My heat is low as I really don't sell much, Shadowhaxor (5-0-0).
EVGA GTX 970 4GB SC ACX 2.0 - Still includes the original poster, box...
Items for in either great condition or brand new!
Nvidia Shield Tablet - Asking $285 shipped. Is brand new, still sealed in the box. Was a replacement directly from Nvidia when my original tablet has defects in the casing.
I have Heatware, I just don't sell very much (HeatWare)
Wow, this is a good read. I've been dealing with virtualization, mostly VMware for the past 5-6 years now. Still manning up for the VCP 5, since I bombed on the VCP4 exam.
Can't wait for this to be finished.
It depends on the time of day but for the most part my connection is pretty consistent. Some times I'm sitting at 100Mbps both up and down.
I love Fios!
Like Easius said, you can use the two ports to connect to two different subnets or link aggregation. Also regarding deciding between the two, at least in CPU terms of power they're similar. And even though the DS214+ has 2 up-links, honestly it doesn't have the power to do link aggregation...
OK, not to derail the OP's issue however I wanted to report on something. So I ended up going to Bestbuy and they had a Harmon Kardon AVR-1700 on sale for $129, it was open box missing everything. Picked it up and happy to report that the AMD video card is indeed working with the receiver so...
So here's the deal, I purchased parts for a HTPC build for a client but they ended up backing out of the build. I wanted to use it since I was past the RMA window for Newegg however due to unforseen issues such as AMD's APU's not working with my receiver I'm at an empass. I really do want to...
So it seems others are having this issue and sadly it's not the receiver, not exactly. I had the same issue when I built a HTPC using AMD's A6 APU and ended up returned the parts. I was never able to get an HDMI sync from the HTPC to my receiver (Pioneer vsk-1022) but only with AMD stuffs. I...
Dude, you stole my PC. :) Mine's looks to be in the same shape as yours, well except your USB headers are intact and mines aren't. Love the case but I can't get replacements for them and I think it's time I replace the beast.
Well I was asked to build a HTPC for a client but then he backed out one he parts were ordered and I missed the window to RMA them back to Newegg so I'm looking to sell them off.
Both items are new and still in the shipping boxes, I never opened them.

The wood screws finally gave out. I've have this desk since 2003 (Maybe longer) and I had to resort to drilling and placing bolts to attach it to the metal frame around the best. It really doesn't detract from the desk but now I have six bolts around the perimeter of the desk except for the front.
Man, I love Ikea. Ended up replacing the 2nd PC POS desk with a Ikea Fredrik that was in the "As-Is" section for $75. There is nothing wrong with this desk.
Sadly they only had one and my Jerker needs replacing, but part of that is I can't stand the thought of tossing it.
How much did that setup cost you? I'm interesting in something like that and it's time I retire the old'e but faithful Jerker. I've gotten it held together with bolts.
Love me some Bitfenix Prodigy. Sadly I'd have to get a mini-ITX to replace my ATX board and I don't believe it can house a GTX 780, let alone two of them.
There's already a fan in here, just way too small for the room, measuring about 36 inches which is not enough. Currently in the search of a functional fan. Would love one of those "Big Ass Fans" that you see at Ikea ;)
Since there's no server equipment in this room and the Pc's are cooled enough, my concern is cooling for the people, mainly me since I work from home in this room. Sadly my windows don't allow for me to add an window unit air conditioner and if need be I'll need to get a portable AC, completely...
Morning HardForum Fam!
So I recently moved into a new house and with that came the disassembly of my small but awesome office and moving it to the new house. So while most of that is done I've ran into an issue; cooling or lack of.
My previous office was in the basement of my old house, so...
Heh, I can imagine. I also work in IT from home and my faithful Ikea Jerker, while still awesome, is getting a bit cramped with (2) 2560 x 1440 monitors and a 3rd is out of the question. I Just had to show the wife your setup and she just rolled her eyes... she knows whats up now!
*SOLD* Selling off my EVGA GTX 680 2GB card since i'm in the process of getting a GTX 780.
Comes with original box, manual, sticks, cd and cables. Card has never been overclocked and is registered with EVGA.
Don't have any pics as the card is still in my gaming rig.
Moga Android Pocket...
So I've been debating on if I should just skip the another GTX 680 for a SLI setup and go straight to a GTX 780. Keep in mind that my GTX 680 is the 2GB variant. I typically game at 2560x1440 and I'd like to push the system as hard as possible.
Not worried about my processor holding me back...
