He said that he was having to pay late bills. The laptop appears to have been ordered, as there is a opened plastic UPS invoice holder on it (the box). The laptop came from Dell directly, and it had the owners sign-in on it still. I went ahead and did a complete wipe, and reinstall of Windows 8.1.
Picked up an Alienware M17 with a 970m for $400 off CL. Sold it three days later for $1000.
Got this Quad Core Early 2009 Mac Pro with dual 5770 1GB cards just now for $50.
The guy said their was a problem with the hard drive and will not boot. But after I checked, it didn't have a hard drive at all.
Then I used the Metro Vacuum ED500P to clean it up and here it is.
I randomly searched my local CL after talking about this tower in an Apple thread here.
How'd you pull that off? Was there something wrong with it when you bought it and fixed it, or did the person selling it just not know what they had?

It was straight luck. He was asking $850 for it and I said I would pick it up for $400 cash that day if I watched it boot into Windows and verified the hardware. Not even 15 minutes after I sent him that message we met up. I checked it over and there was no damage cosmetically. His reasoning for needing to let it go so quick was that they just had a newborn and needed the money for diapers, etc. He added a third party warranty to it and he said he would send me the information to get access to it and he never did after I repeatedly asked him. Pretty sure he got a way better offer after I took it off his hands and was upset.

Guy says all i need is a notice from you saying the machines doesnt work because of the water damage and you can have it and i wanna build a new one when the insurance reimburses me. I dont think nothing of it nice looking tower take it to my bench pop the side of it single gpu z270 mobo 4 sticks of ram and a corsair aio cooler. guy says its been in the car for a few days should be dry. so i plug it in and as soon as i do a get a lil magic smoke from the psu unplug it and write him up a receipt saying machine no power started smoking from psu when plugged in customer asked to recycle. Gave the guy his receipt and away he goes.

Just got a really nice z-680 for $30 a few days ago. It sounds amazing.
Very awesome.
I loved the Z-680 for what they were, I don't think anyone could call them audiophile level gear but for a PC speaker system they were freaking amazing. I don't believe Logitech has made an equal since those were discontinued many years ago - not even close.
I didn't even know this section existed, lol. Here's what I got about a week ago after not having a new build since 2012.

Total if bought new, $1,030.
Found it all pieced together for $300. Has anyone gotten this lucky before?
Stop ruining everyone's fun. You're being a negative Nancy. Sometimes people are just in a very bad place and need money too. Sometimes old women that barely drive their 5 year old car will sell it for $8,000 under market value just because they don't need the money. Are you going to ask them if it's stolen too?I'm not being judgemental, nor does it reflect anything on you as a legitimate buyer, but do you ever consider that this stuff is stolen and people are just playing dumb? $50 for that Mac Pro? I find it easier to believe that people are thieves and just not that big of an idiot (gives me more faith in people).
