Official [H] Star Wars:The Old Republic Thread

I'm CST as well and I'm not too hung up on time zones, but rather just hate being in a guild/clan and being online when no one else is, lol...kinda defeats the purpose.
 
This game, along with BF3 will be some of the best games to play in 2012. Without a doubt in my mind.

And I am 100% positive they will both sell MILLIONS of copies on the 1st day (believe me lol, especially bf3)

Well join on up! Because I will be on at all times of the day for the first couple weeks at least...

And we are already have a decent sized group, and I am sure we will be getting a ton more once the game is actually released!

$15/month
$14/month for 3 months
$13/month for 6 months

im sure there will be those that leave, but there will be those that play both, each a few times a week

I for one will keep my wow sub, not gona cancel it but will defently play old republic
 
People won't pay for 2 MMO subscriptions and because of that a lot of people are not going to leave for KOTOR right away.

I paid for 2 for WoW for a long time.

Unless you mean 2 different, and that's another story. I probably actually would if the game were good enough.

About the same number that left for every other "WoW Killer", only to come back when they realized the game blew. Not that I think this game will blow, but I just like to make fun of all previous WoW-Killers.

He's not saying it's just another WoW-killer.. it's because of WoW's new expansion.

I got that. I wasn't saying he was saying that, either (obviously it was clear as mud).

I was simply pointing and laughing at the supposed, previous WoW Killers.
 
I will be leaving WoW to go to this one. It will be interesting to see how long though as I have not had much luck with new MMO's after Aion and Rift fell to its might. I'm still playing WoW at least until ToR comes out. Of course, since my guild died about 6 months ago I have to do it solo as I can't bring myself to join a guild I will only be with for a few months time.

??? Rift is still going very strongly.
 
Don't know about US servers, but the EU-PvE RP server is pretty much dead. Guilds were disbanded, not many people playing, both on Defiant and Guardian sides
 
$15/month sounds pretty stiff to me. I'm already paying around $20/month for my gamefly subscription...but this is coming from someone who's never played an MMO before. I need progression, story, bosses, and a main quest to "beat". Apparently this game solves some of those issues? This is why I am very seriously considering trying this. It all depends on how the reviews go.

It has all of those things, but it's very much a MMO. So if you want some kind of definitive ending, or non-stop content you will be disappointed. That is of course, unless you play through every single class' storyline... that would keep you busy for quite a while.
 
The next guild phase started. Looks like they will be picking servers for guilds that are ready soon.
 
I really want to play this game, I've had a few MMO's over the past 10 years (after the essential death of EQ1) come up as "must" play for me but all have shown up mediocre. I have the biggest hope for this one though, I've always loved Sci Fi style.

They have a blurb about it on the official TOR website. It says depending on when you register your preorder key, you can get up to 5 days early game time. I registered within the first 24 hours and I'm guessing anyone who registered in the first month of preorders will get 5 as well.

Ah, okay, that's what I figured. I thought they had sent out emails with the specific start date and time.
 
If any casual players are lookin for a guild let me know. I need 1 more person pre-ordered for the guild im in to be ready for the deployment phase.
 
Just got my invite and it starts on 11/11 same day as Skyrim...dang and I thought I was going to play Skyrim all weekend, lol.

same, since I used a guild mate's invite last time I am probably going to spread the love back to my guys. Skyrim is just way more tempting.
 
Yeap, another round of weekend invites have gone out. Check your boxes ladies and germs.

This time current beta testers have access to the weekender's servers too. :)

Starts in the evening it looks like so I'll be able to play a little Skyrim to :)
