This one I made specifically so it's easy on the eyes. (this is a actual screenshot of the desktop). you see nothing. very minimal. picture on right shows ie w/ taskbar. all I need now is a black skin for x64. too bad I can't find a program to skin x64.

 
Well, yes one member just posted about setting your desktop as a http or something, and the that would rotate your wallpaper at X rate. If I knew how to do that I probably would do it, time for more research.

~To the above poster, how are you making your programs run with transparency?
Secondary program?
 
You can always just download something like nuonsoft wallpaper cycler also. They have a free one that uses very little ram.

Transparency's is an option under nvidia nview options. It allows you to add a context menu item to title bars which gives you 'always on top' and 'transparent'.
 
my universty runs a html desktop on each of its computers. Nice active links to the homepage and a couple other spots as well as scrolling announcements on the right. Its actually quite nice and Im considering trying to setup the same at home. Be nice to have that shit available without cluttering up everything else...

I keep installing and uninstalling it, it is a great thing, but it also has its down sides.

You really should look at getting a desktop other than white. :p

I tried installing themexp and wb on x64 and both don't work. themexp says "not for this build" and wb does the "please constantly reboot" thing. If you look on the stardock forum you'll find most users are pissed because they have this "reboot" problem. Haven't been able to get wb past that point. Guess I joined the club.

This is on the downstairs Dell. Not usually used by me, but since my mobo is being RMAed, I figured I'd share what I'm working with now.

The picture was one I took in the Bahamas on Guana Cay, part of the Abaco Islands this past Christmas. High res are available upon request.

Yeah, that is my buddy list, the theme is called "black is beautiful" I think and the program is adium as mentioned earlier. The transparency is set to 0 so the background is clear. I believe you can get a similar effect in windows with trillian, but its been a while.

I am not really sure what the names of the icons I am using are, but they ALL came from http://www.interfacelift.com.
