Have you run sfc /scannow already?
I have seen something similar before on someones PC where the core Windows DNS files were infected. The antivirus cleaned them but then DNS did not work at all afterwards and an sfc /scannow fixed it.
The drives are unfortunately 10mm and not 7mm so that dock won't work. I was thinking of this: Lian Li 5.25" to 4 x 2.5" HDD Converter - Black (BZ-525B) - FrozenCPU.com
Hi,
I need some recommendations for a storage server. A cube with a horizontal motherboard tray or rack case is preferred. I am considering: Cooler Master: HAF XB EVO
At a minimum I need to fit 11 2.5 inch drives and 2 3.5 inch drives. Hot-swap is not necessary and I definitely do not want an...
I can recommend the Tripp Lite. I have it and it is very nice. It comes with lots of M6 cage nuts/screws and cable management hooks that go on the side. The depth is also very easily adjustable. I prefer working on it a lot more then on a full rack with panels. I got it for under $300 from...
I am looking for some recommendations for a storage server case. Rack one is ideal as I have a rack. It should take 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives. Noise should be manageable. I know about the Norcos and SuperMicros but is there anything else I should be looking at?
I know its not what you asked for but can you approach this from a different angle. Can you make 4 completely different networks and then just copy the data between those specific networks and manually divide the workload across the networks. So 192.168.1.1 and .2 then 192.168.2.1 and .2 and so...
I ended up purchasing 2 shelves so it would have been nice if one or two of them was included because everyone has a modem/gateway device or some other random piece of equipment that is not rack mountable.
Keep in mind that this is not what I would call a production network. This is more of a lab. I am not hosting email servers or anything like that. Downtime is acceptable and I don't need a 4 hour replacement unit if this one fails. I just need a new solid switch because my current one is to...
I already got a box that does that (well VM now, was a physical box till just last week), Sophos UTM by the way. But want to avoid having traffic between vlans going through it.

Intervlan routing is the most important followed by flow export. Any other features are a nice bonus for down the line such as floating static routes, policy based routing, and NAC/NAP.
Budget is pretty open.
Hi,
I am looking at buying a new switch and can't make up my mind.
My requirements so far are that it has to be ~24 ports and Layer 3, lifetime warranty is a nice plus.
I don't care about the vendor in all honestly, I worked on Cisco, HP, Dell, Adtran, and other equipment before so...
Just a follow up post. I am using the Tripp Lite rack and it is very nice for the price I paid from Amazon. Definitely very sturdy and comes with decent amount of accessories to get you started like M6 nuts/screws and cable management hooks. Definitely would recommend it to others.
