need a case for a storage server

Hi,

I need some recommendations for a storage server. A cube with a horizontal motherboard tray or rack case is preferred. I am considering: Cooler Master: HAF XB EVO

At a minimum I need to fit 11 2.5 inch drives and 2 3.5 inch drives. Hot-swap is not necessary and I definitely do not want an expander as the 11 2.5 inch drives are all SSDs. Redundant power supply is not a requirement either. Cooling is important. I was thinking of getting a 5.25 to 4 2.5 inch adapter and with 2 of those I would be able to fit 12 2.5 inch drives and 2 3.5 inch drives in it.

Is there any other options? I am familiar with the Norcos and Supermicros but think they may be a little overkill in this scenario.

After the initial drives I doubt more drives will be added so future growth is not a factor.

The drives are unfortunately 10mm and not 7mm so that dock won't work. I was thinking of this: Lian Li 5.25" to 4 x 2.5" HDD Converter - Black (BZ-525B) - FrozenCPU.com

According to IcyDock's page they support up to 12mm if it is the same bay.

they dock I linked in my post is for the thinner drives, holds 8 in a 5-1/4 bay.

I'd use the Icydock that brennok linked if that's the case. Only one power cable to run instead of 4, so only 2 instead of 8 if you use the two 5.25 bays in the HAF XB EVO. I use the Icydock with 15k 2.5" SAS drives, it works great.

looks like it took 20 minutes to put it in the case and attach 4 sata cables 1 power cable and screw it in, lol
