I don't think you'll be disappointed. The 2405 is my first LCD. I'm using it for gaming, HDTV, and DVDs. All three look quite good.
I can't speak to FPS gaming, since I don't do it, but WOW looks stunning, DVDs look very good, and HDTV looks fantastic at the proper viewing distance.

Another fun shot for you guys who don't have it yet. :p
Pardon the sloppy desk. It's cleanup day later this week. Let me know if anyone wants 1920x1200 original photo desktops. My wife is a fine photographer. Of course, I'm a bit biased. But her desktops for the monitor ARE good.

No tearing here, using component inputs on the 2405. Things look great 90% of the time. The other 10% is mostly badly transmitted SD signals, or poor film-->HD xfers..
I bought this monitor for the same reasons that interest you, and I'm happy with it. Will technology be bigger and better for...
Thanks again for the help on this. Got my new cables. PQ is about the same. I think for me it's just a question of viewing distance. As a monitor, I'm using it at about 2.5-3' out, and it looks gorgeous. Any farther away and my aging eyes can't see the text well.
As a TV, about 9-10' seems to...
It does, and I appreciate it. From the cable end though, an amplifier won't help, will it? I'm seeing the picture fine, but having issues much like those you mentioned above.
Crossing my fingers that the cables will help out...

WoW runs very nicely with settings almost all the way up and AA turned off for me with a 5900FX. I guess it depends on what you play.
None of my RTS games have hiccuped yet, and WoW looks fantastic at 1920x1200.
I'm sure the newest FPS games would probably make the 5900 go up in a puff of...
HD signals *should* be all or nothing, correct? I'm not sure how that works with the component inputs. For HDMI I'm pretty sure this is the case.
SD reception is fine on a regular TV, and the cable modem speed from the split hasn't changed.
I think it's either the cables or the monitor...
Thanks.
I actually already ordered some Python component cables, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen a marked difference between the component cables that came with the monitor, and retail offerings.
I'm hoping there is a difference. I may be slightly more picky. I was a commercial...
Ordered mine Saturday. Got here yesterday. As a monitor, this thing is incredible. We hooked it up to my wife's Apple G4 at work when it came in, and her 20" Apple display was both dwarfed and outshined.
On my PC at home, it's incredible. My 5900FX has no issues running in 1920x1200, and even...
Sounds like it's time to crack open a cold beer, watch some tube, and hm and ha and then say, 'okay, done with that', every now and then. At least a more relaxing way to get through what you both have to get through.
They're probably playing minesweeper on the other line anyway, just hitting...
After reading around some more, it appears my card should have no trouble diplaying at native on the 2405.
It may not scream, but it should be fine.
Thanks for the help!

Thanks bmwrob. That definitely answers which card I should get if mine doesn't work with it.
Now, on the site, are those the ONLY cards it supports? :)
It appears those are cards that Dell has and ships, which is the only reason I ask. My card isn't listed there as a 'YES' or a 'NO'. It...
No prob.
P4 3.0 w/ 512MB of RAM. You've got my video card already. What else do you need? A shorthand of the questions would be:
1. Will the GeForce FX 5900XT cut it for making the most for the full-resolution of the 2405FPW?
2. If not, what would be the video card that would and could...
