Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
This is true. Vista is said that it will take a lot more power consumption due to it's demands. However, for my needs, I'm not too big on taking it around everywhere and will use it within my house most often, but want a laptop to use upstairs or downstairs with a wireless network and such...
Here is another question that gets asked often about when it's best to buy new laptop or PC. I know that it's best to buy now if you "need" it or wait if you possibly can. And also the fact that technology is always around the corner, so I have to buy eventually or I will never get one if I...
This happened to me for over a year and I could never figure it out on my 1.7 P4 setup. My guess was the BIOS upgrade (Gateway's own bios update, where I bought it from at the time). I have a different setup now and don't have the problem anymore though.
But, I have a few suggestions. First...
I have a little problem. First I have a Epox 9NDA3J mobo with AMD venice 3000+. I did overclock it to about 2500 mhz I can run anything stable.
Anyways for a while now, sometimes on startup, some hardware isn't detected like usb(keyboard or mouse only) or monitor(or maybe windows doesn't boot...
I just bought:
Epox 9NDA3J ($86.50) I bought it last week at $93 :(
3000+ venice ($155)
1GB Cosair Value Select Ram ($80)
Total: $321.5
I don't see how you can go wrong with this setup, especailly if you are not going to be heavy in overclocking.
I have mine stable at 2.52Ghz (280X9) (a...
I have an Epox 9NDA3J 939 mobo. Does your motherboard supposed to always show something on the LED post code (if you have it)?
According to the index in the manual, my post codes correspond to "reserved" and always have a different random number everytime (but not any that have a meaning)...
Yeah, I had the nForce 3 ultra.
But great news! so far...I changed from 1T to 2T and am running at 285.41 (pushed in clockgen) at 2568mhz. I did some little 1MB tests in SuperPi:
1T - 265X9 = 37.593
2T - 268X9 = 38.XXX mid something (notice the decrease time from 2T yet slightly higher...
Yep, cool 'n quiet is disabled. My memory is at 1T yet, would it help if at 2T? And for reference my Ht freq link is at 3X, so that's all good.
Another thing that scared me is just 15 minutes ago while running at the 2.4 ghz and I ran superPi fine with the 8M test thing. Then I poped a...
I'm getting a little worried about my overclocking. Right now I can assume stable at 2.4ghz, but I've been trying a lot of bios tweaks to up it with only rebooting. My computer won't even boot into windows at a frequency higher than 270 anymore. I did boot yesterday at 280-285X9, but not too...
Fenderltd, when you changed the voltage for CPU does it say +.025, +.05, +.075, ect., so I'm guessing you had to do about +.3 (from 1.4ish to 1.7ish).
And I'm also quessing there is no LDT voltage setting for the Epox board (but I don't think it matters).
Also, I noticed you have the pci-e...
Funny thing Lestang, I just sent you a PM and then looked at this topic. :D
Fenderltd, that's the same set up I have. May I ask you some very needed questions?
What were your voltage settings(cpu, chipset, dimm, battery agp(if you even needed to change it) and memory timings exactly? Were...
