    21.5 - 27 - 21.5 PLP?

Took the plunge. Haven't used it long but I like it so far. Mostly I have not been doing PLP, but rather PLL - one side display for in landscape for video/email and one in portrait for doc editing/web browsing. Slight difference in pixel density doesn't bug me. Pics:

    Monoprice to sell re-branded FSM-270YG 2560x1440 IPS for $390

Overall, the monitor is excellent. No dead pixels or backlight issues I can see. My one major complaint is that the stem part of the stand isn't removable, at least not without dremeling it off or opening the case, both of which would void the warranty. The product description doesn't make this...

    Monoprice to sell re-branded FSM-270YG 2560x1440 IPS for $390

FWIW, the AG coating on the new Dell (2713) is much less aggressive. My Monoprice monitor is arriving today. Will report back on quality & observations (likely with pics).

    21.5 - 27 - 21.5 PLP?

LOL. My failing Hanns-G monitor is the reason I'm upgrading.

    21.5 - 27 - 21.5 PLP?

I've got no objection to used. But I can't find a 20" 1920x1080 display anywhere. Anyone know of one?

    4870 to 7770, worthwhile?

Ok, forget I mentioned Skyrim. I should have expected an upgrade was necessary. After all, I bought the 4870 to play heavily modded Oblivion. But to run titles like XCOM, Civ V, Paradox games, or Left for Dead 2 at 1440p, is an upgrade necessary? Those are the games I play most, according to...

    21.5 - 27 - 21.5 PLP?

I agree - 1080 vertical resolution is a minimum for the portrait displays. But I don't know of a 20" 1080p panel. The PPI mismatch on the common 21.5 panels is not much worse (about 102 PPI for 21.5", 110 for a hypothetical 20", compared to about 108 for the 27"). That's what I describe in the...

    4870 to 7770, worthwhile?

Hope this isn't too much thread hijack. I'm in a very similar situation to the OP - owner of a 4870 512mb and an E8500 CPU. I'm perfectly happy with it now for the games I play: most demanding titles are probably XCOM and Civ V, though I plan to try out Skyrim. The motivation for a GPU...

    Monoprice to sell re-branded FSM-270YG 2560x1440 IPS for $390

I hear ya. Felt exactly the same way when other people snagged one earlier today, after I didn't get a notification. Best guess is that a few orders were cancelled.

    Monoprice to sell re-branded FSM-270YG 2560x1440 IPS for $390

That I signed up to be notified when the product came back in stock, and only found out by reading random forum threads?

    Monoprice to sell re-branded FSM-270YG 2560x1440 IPS for $390

Glad to help, and that you got one. I see out of stock right now, but if you want one I suggest checking regularly and not relying on their notification feature. If I hadn't ordered hundreds of things from Monoprice before I'd be critical of their customer service here, but I know it's not...

In stock. Just ordered one. Still didn't get a notification. Whatever, hope it goes through.

    Monoprice to sell re-branded FSM-270YG 2560x1440 IPS for $390

Not strictly true - there is the Microcenter Auria for $400+tax, w/1 year warranty. But Monoprice with the coupon is untouchable at <$320. Coupon is likely to be unavailable in March.
