Files have went missing from my desktop. Where have they gone?

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move. I shut down my computer yesterday for a few hours and upon turning back on I have noticed that at least one folder full of important excel sheets has vanished completely. There's also a few others missing that were just sitting on my...

    Microsoft Excel refusing to open

I have a subscription to Microsoft 365. You can sign in and install the apps from there. (Version 2406 Build 16.0.17726.20078) 64-bit is the version that's installed if that helps.

    Microsoft Excel refusing to open

Problem is solved for now. I have to assume it was an update issue. When I checked for updates there had been an error. Seems like it had not updated in a while. It was Error Code 0x800f0805. It was quite a lengthy process to fix. Troubleshooting didn't sort it. I ended up having to install the...

    Microsoft Excel refusing to open

''If Microsoft Excel is launching in safe mode without any issues, we can conclude that the problem is a result of an add-in. To know the culprit, open MS Excel (normally) and navigate to File > Options > Add-Ins > COM Add-ins. Now, remove these extensions one by one to find out which one is...

    Microsoft Excel refusing to open

I have 5 excel files on my desktop, can't open any. No error. Double click on it and nothing happens. Hit enter on it, nothing happens. I have just come across this method online - Type “Excel /safe” in Run and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run the command with admin access. This opens Excel...

    Microsoft Excel refusing to open

As in the title, I can't open any of my Excel files. I need access to them asap as it's part of my job. I've tried the repair feature to no avail. Also have uninstalled and re-installed 4 times now, still won't open. Insanely frustrating. I'm running Windows 10 Home 64 bit. Any help would be...

Looking for some advice - will more RAM help?

Thanks everyone for the help, I'm not on here often but I always get great advice. It was this forum that helped me build her in the first place. 12 years later and she's still going well overall for day to day use. So that is a testament to the knowledge available on here! When I run CCleaner...

I'll get back to you on that one, I have a lot of tabs open just now but it's responding okay. I'll check next time it gets sluggish.

Looking for some advice - will more RAM help?

My desktop PC is getting on a bit and it's starting to slow down, particularly when I have a lot of tabs open which I need for work. I have two extra slots I can install more RAM into, would that speed it up? Or should I start looking for a new PC? Ideally, I would like to keep it going for a...

Hi, thanks for taking the time to respond. Would this work if I downloaded Windows 10 or would I need the disc version?

Installing Windows 10 on C drive (looking for advice)

I have limited knowledge and looking for some advice. I'm currently still running Windows 7 on my C drive and looking to format it and install Windows 10. How straight forward is this to do? How would I go about doing it? Obviously I will back up anything I need on current Cdrive. Also have...
