Hey all, I've been thinking very seriously about buying either the Asus VG236 or the BenQ XL2410Q, both of which seem to be love 'em or hate 'em types of monitors. I'm very concerned about black levels - as such I'm also considering the Eizo Foris FS2331, which has other threads in this forum...

Still haven't gotten a reply regarding the NA release of this monitor D:. Strange to me that I was told 'mid-March,' as if they don't have a set date...

Ended up contacting Eizo, and apparently this hasn't 'officially' been released yet - will be middle of next month. I guess I can wait.

Something like that XD. This seems like *the* monitor for me as I value low black levels, and it'd be an instant buy if I could find the damned thing in stock anywhere. Are there any other quality 23-24" gaming-capable PVA panels out there?

What are black levels like, vs. the 2410? Going to be making a 24" decision soon myself, and I'd *really* like something with black levels that are much lower than those on my 2209WA.

That will be interesting to see in response to that review. I had read it a while back, and what strikes me is that they (and they state this) go for maximum heat buildup within the case, relying on whatever airflow is there to get rid of the heat. I don't think the motherboard orientation does...

Was just a guess, because several users have reported this (I myself, with an RV-02 and single 5870, couldn't be happier). It isn't just a matter of the air coming up through the heatsink (which you're right about), the cards themselves radiate a TON of heat into the rest of the case at full...

Just a guess, but these people may be comparing to a case where you have a large fan blowing across (onto the video cards). In the case of the RV-02/FT-02, air has to travel a long way for the fans to push it all the way up between two cards like that. Of course, in these other cases that hot...

I would also caution people thinking video cards will continue to get longer and longer... This trend isn't sustainable (and I think the HD5870/5970 could have been shorter minus the shroud). The reported length of GF100 (under 11") is evidence of this. Neither company wants to make video cards...
