Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks Redbeard. It's always a good re-assuring thing to see an actual rep from the company, reading what their target market of customers has to say about their products :)
This is my system:
Intel DX38BT
Q6600 G0 w/ Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme
2GB DDR3 OCZ Gold
Corsair TX650W
WD 640GB
ATI 4850
Earlier this month I upgraded my old PC and when doing so, I used the older Antec Earthwatts 500W power supply I had. It wasn't bad I thought, but when trying...
Everything was working fine yesterday. Today, all I did was transfer everything over to my new Lian Li PC-7B case with Corsair TX650w power supply. The machine booted fine into Xp the first time. I noticed it took a bit longer than usual once in windows because it detected 'new hardware' (which...
My chip is a Q6600 G0, however even with a Thermalright Ultra 120 I cannot get it past 3.1GHz. Anything above that, even with a 1:2 mem divider and voltage of 1.4 on the CPU just wont boot, or crashes just as it goes into windows. The only 2 things I could think of that are holding me back could...
Well everyone. I think I finally fixed the issue. It seems that it was driver related. I un-installed the latest ATI driver, and instead loaded the one that came in the CD with the card, and my frame rates have increased quite a bit, and even a bit above the 7900GTO.
That's all it was.
I...
Well, with all the rave reviews this card was getting, and everyone saying it beat the 9800GTX, I assumed this would also be the case in FSX. I mean, I don't think I was wrong to assume that the latest state of the art card would beat a 2 year old graphics card, but I guess I was wrong. In 90%...
Well, I can't return the CPU or GPU, unfortunately. I;d have to sell them privately. The 4850 I can sell pretty easily.
As for Quad vs Duo. I was under the impression and have heard from numerous sources that FSX will indeed take advantage of a Quad. I've seen stats where all 4 cores were...
Yes, I know, but how does that explain the fact that it runs smoother on my 2 year old graphics card than on the newer state of the art Radeon 4850? Surely the GPU must have at least a bit of a bearing on overall performance in FSX.
Last week I got the bug to upgrade my old computer to run Flight Sim X. So I got:
Q6600 @2.8GHz (overclocked) on Thermalright Ultra-120
2GB DDR3 OCZ
Intel DX38BT
WD 640GB HDD
EVGA 7900GTO 512Mb (from my old system)
I installed FSX w/SP2 and running Omega Nvidia drivers. In the KSEA...
I won't wait because DX10 cards will be too expensive. I already ordered the GTO, and I got it at a good price. I needed a new card anyways.
Also, no need to wait. Even though the release date is the 18th of October, some Best Buys and Wal-Marts have already leaked copies on the shelves. I...
Well, my GF 6800 256Mb (non-ultra) finally started to show it's age, once I installed the new Flight Simulator X. I basically had to run everything on low settings in order for me to get a decetn 15fps, whereas in FS2004, I was easily getting 35+.
So, I decided to pull the trigger and I...
Well, I decided to go all out and get good components, and know that I have the best I can afford, and that it's proven to get the results I'm looking for. So, I got a OCZ Powerstream 520w today, and tomorrow I'm picking up a classic Coolermaster Praetorian in bare aluminum. I went over twice...
In that case am i better off going for the P150 with the 450E Neo HE psu?
As a last resort I'd buy a Modstream or Powerstream PSU, but then I have to buy a case separately and that will get costly.
What's my best choice, since I'm on a budget?
I'm building a new rig and I'm looking at getting a Sonata II case. I was originally wanting the P150, but the quality control issues on the PSU hav e steered me away. Anyways, can the PSU of the Sonata II handle my system:
Opteron 144 (looking to OC to FX-57 speeds)
2 x 512Mb Mushkin...
