Been playing a vaal sparker this league, which has been a nice change of pace for me. Starting up a barrage/split arrow build using The Tempest and a +1 arrow Saemus'. Have a couple 6l Tempests to try to Vaal for the +1 arrow corruption, we shall see how that goes... Also been playing around...

Getting 6l is significantly harder than getting 6s, and you got really lucky with that chest armor - congrats! And yes, scouring and then alching does the same as a chaos orb. You can go either route if you want to try your luck on re-rolling the chest.
