I managed to bring my external drive's temperature down from 60C to 33C.
********** was on track to creating the perfect cheap, no-frills external eSATA enclosure... and then they completely screwed the ventilation up.
It seems like every month or so I acquire someone's older PC (that or I gain enough parts to make a mostly-complete system), and most of the time it's still a decent system... except for the case, which almost always looks like it's been through hell and back. I'll replace the case before...
Noctua :D
I second the mention about their customer support; my own experience was very good when I first got my NH-L12.
I also have to admit that the color scheme has grown on me.
I think there's something else to be mad at Matrox about.

Either I've clearly missed an important detail or something just doesn't add up; USD $600 for that? It doesn't help that the rest of their cards (in similar specification) are...
Thanks. I also showed the below image to the seller and he's already refunded me.
Now that I think about it, this is the third time this year I've been pummeled by poor packing practices. From now on I'm going explicitly request decent packaging from eBay sellers on items like these, even if...
Bought this, marked as used (and fully functional), off an eBay seller and it arrived today. After opening it cautiously I noticed that one of the small capacitors on the bottom is missing, and two close to the center appear damaged. I absolutely hate to post this, but my awful cell phone...
I was referring to its feature set, which happens to make it very handy in such an environment.
Also, are you implying that motherboards can't have a target market?
I wish they would at least have continued manufacturing business class motherboards. The DQ77MK has been my absolute favorite mATX workstation/business board, and the fact that there won't be any updates of it for future processor generations saddens me. I know there are other options out there...
Note the lack of a "keep out" area around that hole. I'm not sure why that hole in particular is there, but it seems that a screw isn't meant to go into it; if I did put a screw there, it would crush some of the small electronics right next to that first I/O connector stack (I think those are...
I'm dealing with a case that has about a 0.7mm gap between the rear I/O components and the I/O shield. The problem is that cords with large bases cannot be fully inserted into their respective ports (e.g. DP, several USB cables I've tried, and several 1394 cables as well). They do make a...
I've had my NH-L12 for over a month now and I haven't been able to find a single fault with it. The highest temperature my CPU has ever reached is 49C.
Recently bought an NF-P12 PWM and NF-R8 PWM for the case and they've reduced ambient temps by a fair amount yet are virtually silent.
God...
Long story short is that I'm helping out a medical billing business that has five ancient PCs (clamshell design Dells + two Compaqs with AGP) in need of replacement. A server is also needed. Never hurts to get some extra thoughts, right?

I'm considering the In Win BL040.300TB3LF...
