    VGA to Composite/New Receiver ?

Yeah, I am looking for DVI to component (red, blue, green). I read on some forums that DVI to component may not work. I have an old 8600gts that I am going to use with this build, do you have any recommendations on reliable DVI to component converter cable. Thank you for your help.

    VGA to Composite/New Receiver ?

I am trying to help a family member out with his home theater room. I have some extra parts, enough to put together a decent HTPC. Unfortunately, his home audio equipment is very nice, but dated (10 years or so). He has a Dennon receiver that is running to a projector via VGA out. The...

    Upgrade help

Sorry, forgot to answer a few questions. USB 3.0 would be nice. I'm really not sure on crossfire, I understand that sli is two of the same video cards working together. Is crossfire any different, will it allow two different cards to work together. I may add a second graphics card in the future.

    Upgrade help

Thanks for the info. So is a dual core Intel a much faster processor than a quad core amd? And does that processor also work as a video card or in conjunction with my 6770? Sorry for the noob questions, I have not paid much attention to the tech over the last few years. Also, I will probably be...

    Upgrade help

I have a 4 year old ASUS 939 Board with an Athlon X2 4200 Dual Processor that I am looking to upgrade. My budget is under $200 and the PC is primarily used as an HTPC, but I would like to be able to also do some gaming also. Anyone have any good recommendations on a Board, Processor, and Memory...

    Tv tuners

I have had two hauppauge 1600 tuners in my computer for the last few years. They have been used for qam tuning and have worked pretty well. I'm considering adding another tuner or upgrading and was wondering what peoples opinions are of some of the more current tuners on the market. Any...

    8600gts question

Thanks, that's what I was wondering, it's going to be for an htpc so won't be to graphics intensive. Just Bluray down the road. Will the onboard video work with the 8600gts or will it just be disabled with the card plugged in? Basically, will the graphics capabilities be better than just an...

    8600gts question

I just upgraded from the 8600gts so I have a spare card sitting around that I was going to give it to buddy if it will have any benefit in his pc. He is putting together a pc with the following board which has onboard video: ASUS M4A88T-M AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard Would...

Recommendations for wireless keyboard/mouse combo for HTPC?

The iPad or iPhone with airmouse is a great solution. A used itouch would probably be pretty cheap to snag off eBay. I also have an l5 remote that makes the iPhone or iPad a pretty good universal remote when combined with airmouse for the pc.

    Projector question (pk301)

So I figured out that amazon vid quality must just be worse than iTunes. Does anyone know of a good switch or receiver that could route 2 VGA devices and a few hdmi to my projector?

    Projector question (pk301)

I just got a pk301 projector and had some questions regarding resolution. I plugged it in to my iPad and watched a standard def tv show off of iTunes at about 80-90 inches and was really impressed. I then plugged it into my HTPC and watched an amazon unbox movie and it seemed pretty out of focus...

    Power Supply Question

Thanks Tsumi, I've heard that, just hoping it won't blow up or anything in the next 6 months until he can budget in a video card and a better power supply. Do you know much about the onboard video on that board. Will play bluray decently? Happy Thanksgiving
