Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
If you are not looking to spend much then this one is pretty good. I have had this for over 6 months with no issues. The Joystick mouse works great and I have had no reception issues, but I am only about 10 feet from the pc. It not currently available at newegg, but I think frys carriers it if...
No you only need coax and an hd tv. The card you purchased, as mentioned above will tune in QAM channels. I had no luck with the software provided by hauppuage, but I was able to get about 58 channels with Beyond TV. It will depend on your cable provider.
If you are looking to record HD you only have a few options.
This will record any HD channel, to the best of my knowledge, but its expensive. You will also need to have it hooked to a set top box and use an IR blaster to control it.

GB PVR is free and would work well for what you are trying to do. I use meedio to organize and playback old videos and music. I do not know if you can find it online anymore though, they are no longer working on the program.
Some other ones to try would be Xlobby and Media portal.
If you...
My friend is in the market for a computer and I was going to help build him an HTPC, but his budget is around $600-$700.
He basically wants it for browsing the net on his tv, blue ray, music, roms, and movies. Maybe recording tv down the road, but a tuner is not needed at this time. He is...
I just installed that drive yesterday and had a similar problem. I had put in a 8600gt and was getting a lot of choppy playback. I fixed by installing the newest Nvidia driver and checking the Hardware acceleration box in Power dvd. Look at your cpu usage when playing back an hd video. If it is...
I apologize if this is not the correct forum. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if it was safe to have all of the following plugged into one wall outlet and running at the same time. I'm just a little worried because I know that the xbox, pc, and LCD use a lot of power. Thanks for...
I tried to post this in cooling a while ago, but got no responses. Anyhow, since it relates to an HTPC case I thought I would post it here. I bought the Thermaltake Lanbox lite case a few months ago and while I really like the case in general I cannot find a way to keep it cool. The Power supply...
I have converted all of mine to avi's using autogk and play them through the dashboard under videos in the XBOX 360. My small AVI's play fine, but the 360 seems to shutter everyonce in a while when playing a movie AVI. I don't think you play them through the media extender in the 360.
I was just wondering if anyone knows when hauppage and other tuner companies will start mass producing HTPC digital tuners, or if they ever will. I have a 1600 with QAM support, but as I understand it a digital cable card would be different. I have looked around and know that cable cards exist...
