Well the GPU is at stock. Btw I just tried lowering the voltage of the gpu to 975 from 1000. It seems to not die anymore. So does that mean its the PSU?

Thanks, I will try that. Too bad ATI does not simply alow you to set a "FAN GOES ON AT 85C" from the control panel. Or better yet, have the driver be smart enough to not let the fan sit idle at high temps.

Hey there, I'm on my second 5970. First one would crash on 2d. I now have a new one that does not have that problem, however. I noticed some play artifacts while playing BF:BC2. Little black squares, you can see them at certain portions of the level. I checked the heat and I was at 82...

looks like it was just a faulty 5970, same system, different card...no error. Didn't even change the drivers.

I now have the new card installed....got to hand it to dell, in less than 48 hours I got a new 5970. Seems to be working well! I will update after few more days! Yay!

I had a very similar problem...it was gpuz running in the backround...make sure you have nothing like that running while playing.

RMAed. New card on its way! Hopefully I'll get a working one.
