Creative X-FI Titanium problem - LOUD NOISES

Hey All,

I get this terrible loud noise that occurs whenever the first sound is played after restarting/turning on my computer or waking it from sleep.

It sounds like a distortion of the said sound file, and like it could be damaging to my speakers. Occasionally the problem will continue past the first sound and I will have to go into the creative audio CP and switch from "game mode" to "entertainment mode"

I have tried different speakers and the problem persists. I sent back the first soundcard to dell and tried a replacement however that did not help. I also replaced the MOBO.

Of course I tried several drivers.

Please help!
 
This is what I do to stop this issue when it occurs with my Forte. If you have Windows Vista or 7 you should have the volume mixer in your sound properties. You will need to close all of these applications. After you close all of them (except system sounds) your issue should hopefully resolves. This fixes it every time for me.
