    27" 240hz OLED Monitor!!! (but there's a catch...)

Why are some people so obsessed with brightness? It's not like CRTs produced massive brightness either. With calibration, you usually end up with like 15-20% of the brightness setting anyway. What's the problem here? Enlighten me (no pun intended).

    27" 240hz OLED Monitor!!! (but there's a catch...)

So this monitor is not using QD OLED, and also it won't come with burn in warranty? That worries me a bit, but otherwise this seems like the dream monitor to me.

Does GPU scaling from 3440 x 1440 to 2560 x 1440 cause noticable input lag?

Thanks for your replies guys. Yes, that was what I was thinking too, since what I want is just to crop the image, not change the resolution. I think I will go for the OLED ultrawide now. It seems to be the best of two worlds since the black bars are completely disabled pixels, so it should feel...

Does GPU scaling from 3440 x 1440 to 2560 x 1440 cause noticable input lag?

Hey guys. I'm thinking about buying the Dell AW3423DW which has a resolution of 3440 x 1440 but no display scaler over DisplayPort, which is the connection I will be using. For games that don't support 21:9, I want to play in 2560 x 1440 (16:9) and have the black bars on the sides. That does...

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Hey again guys, I'm thinking about buying this monitor. There is one concern for me though, and that is resolution scaling. For games that don't support ultra wide I want to play in 16:9 (2560 x 1440). From my understanding the monitor itself can only do the resolution scaling over HDMI. Since...

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

I'm thinking about buying this monitor. Is there any drawback to play games in 16:9 (2560 x 1440) on this monitor even though the native res is 3440 x 1440?. I was thinking if there is any kind of scaling issues (softness), input lag or anything when playing not in its native res? Since it is an...

    RTX 2080 enough for 3440 x 1440?

Hey guys. I'm considering bying an ultrawide monitor for my setup. The one I've set my sights on has a resolution of 3440 x 1440. I'm a bit worried if the card will be enough for that resolution. I currently play on a 2560 x 1440 display and it works well for me so far as I have a long backlog...

Need advice on a 24" VA-panel monitor for gaming (1080p)

Hey guys! I would need some advice on a new gaming monitor. I have had IPS displays in the past but I can't really get used to the low contrast/poor black levels compared to VA panels. So I have been looking at the following monitors: Samsung Odyssey G3 - Seems to have great contrast...

SSD with average temperature of 65°C

Hey guys. I have a TOSHIBA THNSNJ256G8NY SSD (258 gb) on my laptop (an MSI Raider 17") My temperature is high, at 64-65 degrees Celcius at all times, even though the SSD isn't doing anything. Even when I just browse the web, and "current disc activity" is at 0%, it is still at 64-65 degrees...

Micro stutter/short freezes when I play games on my HDD HGST Travelstar 7K1000

Hey guys, I have a laptop (MSI GE73VR 7RF 058NE Raider) and I have some short freezes/stutters when I play some games on my hard drive. It is a mechanical drive, a HGST Travelstar 7K1000 HTS721010A9E630 32MB 1TB. Do you know what the problem might be? I'm certain it is the hard drive because...

Do fiber optic HDMI cables add any noticeable input lag?

Thanks. Whats the difference between active copper cables and fiber optical? Is there less of a conversion going on?

Do fiber optic HDMI cables add any noticeable input lag?

Hey! I need to buy a fiber optic HDMI cable at 6 meters in order to use my pc with my 4k tv and a controller for gaming. I'm a bit concerned about possible input lag though, as the signal is converted to light in the cable and then back again. What do you guys think? Do i risk increasing input...

Concerned about damaged (?) LAN port - packet loss

Is it normal to get 25-40% packet loss in Pingplotter pro, when trying to ping more than one target at a time? The Loss is from my router. When i ping only one target i get no loss. Using 1-2 sec intervals mostly

Concerned about damaged (?) LAN port - packet loss

Hi! Yes i get packet loss to my router if the packet size is big enough. Small packets like 32 bytes i think work fine. Also i start getting packet losses if i ping 3 targets or so in Pingplotter. Maybe there is some protection mechanism that stops several pings per second from coming back to me?
