Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
ok, I will try to use my windows cd, hopefully i get lucky and this resolves the issue. However, if it is the Hard drive IDK how it could be anything other than the hard drive just failing, because the laptop has worked fine for 4 years now and I have never dropped it, so I doubt it is just a...
My laptop was working fine, then I tried to turn it on and it started to load windows, which had the scroll bar go across the screen 2 times before a quick flash of blue screen with random characters and then auto reboot. I then got the screen asking to start windows from last known good...
Thanks for the link to that thread. I am thinking about just creating a new partition with the remaining space. Would it impact the performance of my PC if I were to use the newly created partition for all of my programs while windows is on the other partition? If so, would it be a better...
I bought a brand new 750 gig Seagate 7200RPM SATA drive off newegg. Installed it and got ready to set up windows XP. When the XP installer got to the select partition to install windows, the numbers were way off. I went ahead with the install and selected the "entire" free space area. Now I...
I asked a similar question a day or so ago. I was pointed to resellerratings.com
Search by store and type in ibuypower and just start reading the reviews... or i guess criticisims would be more correct. You can also read some user comments about ibuypower in the original thread here on hard...
MirageMobile,
Someone in another thread just pointed me to resellerratings.com and I checked out sager. They have a lifetime rating of about 5 out of 10. It seems like customers either got a great laptop which is exactly what they wanted, or the exact opposite. Seems like everyone who had a...
Wow... ibuypower got ripped on reseller ratings.
Unfortunately, so did sager who I had all but decided upon for my new laptop.
I was all but set on my laptop selection... but now I may be back a square one :(
I ran across this while looking at some of the other laptops. I can't find any reviews for it and it isn't a model listed on IBUYPOWER's website... but it seems to be top notch components that normally run around $1900 for only $1470...
Ok so I managed to answer my most of my own questions after reading through random websites and many random web searches but the one I still have is:
If I am going to have a core 2 duo processor and 4G of ram, do i need windows vista ultimate 64 bit to take full advantage or can i use home...
If I have a laptop that supports up to 4G of RAM. If it comes with DDR2 667 PC2 5300 RAM, and I want to buy 4G off of newegg to replace the 1G installed, will DDR2 667 PC2 5400 be compatible? DDR2 800 PC2 6400?
Im looking at getting either...
I just priced a sager 2092 directly off of the sager website and came up with this setup:
Display: 15.4" WSXGA+ LCD with Super Glossy Surface (1680X1050)[+$85.00]
- Processor: 45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9300 / 6MB L2 Cache, 2.50GHz, 800MHz FSB[+$255.00]
- Video & Graphics...
I have been looking through the suggestions and I agree that the Gateway P-171X FX would be a great buy... if they had them in stock. I originally almost bought a sager as my first laptop, and the 2092 seem like it might fit the bill as i really don't think i want/need a 17" screen.
The asus...
I bought an awsome computer my freshman year of college from Viscious PC who has since gone out of business. Something happened with the power supply cord, and I can't get a replacement and I'm not 100% positive that the mobo didn't get fried as well. Im going to get it checked out before I...
Ok, I just went ahead and unistalled every audio driver and every possible audio controlling software off of the computer, then reinstalled my motherboard which included the realtek AC'97 audio drivers and some software to control the surround sound. Everything seems to be working correctly...
Didn't go into the bios and disable the onboard sound before install of the new sound card.
Windows xp Home
I have an EVGA Nforce4 motherboard with onboard audio, not sure what the name of the adapter is
I tried to install a creative sound blaster audigy card
