If I have a laptop that supports up to 4G of RAM. If it comes with DDR2 667 PC2 5300 RAM, and I want to buy 4G off of newegg to replace the 1G installed, will DDR2 667 PC2 5400 be compatible? DDR2 800 PC2 6400?
Im looking at getting either:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231156
or if it isn't compatible:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231165
The price difference is $5 so if the higher performance RAM is compatible, there is no point not going with it.

Thanks for any enlightenment.
BTW the laptop in question will most likely by a new sager 2092.

The higher-performance RAM will work fine, but it won't actually run any faster. Effectively, the speed the RAM ends up running at will be the same regardless of which kit you get, so you may as well save the $5.
