A lot. Way higher ratio than other games thanks to EA forcing BF3 and BF4 exclusivity to their app forcing a very significant section of the BF playerbase over. Even though that was over a decade ago it solidified a large % of the BF playerbase to the EA app. Yeah for sure some moved back to Steam but the "steam : other" ratio with the BF series is not close to other games.
I agree. One of the reasons I was okay with getting it on EA app (and its cheaper price). Origin/EA App is where most of my EA games are, and where all of my Battlefield games are.
Honestly I think if anything more people buy on Steam nowadays than before. Having the ability to refund games and access to features like steam remote play, big picture mode etc. is huge.
I'm glad I didn't end up buying BF6.
I'm not so sure those features like remote play or big picture mode are something that BF players are interested in. Refunds are certainly a thing, but I've often bought games and then refunded them because I could get them cheaper elsewhere as Steam keys. Without a doubt most people still buy directly on Steam (or if not on Steam, the official 1st party store) but it isn't everyone. Especially with BF having a stronger history not being on Steam compared to other games. Also interesting that you didn't buy it, so I think that kind of proves my point a bit that some of those "Steam or nothing else" buyers aren't necessarily BF players.
The big problem is that DICE is DICE.
This is also a problem. Its solid, but needs some improvements. And DICE is being a bit slow with them.
