Pretty sure that reads as any new SLI profiles. Old ones are still there, but no new DX11 game will be getting one after they stop in 2021.I'm sorry but I don't understand this article with SLI support on the 3000 series:
https://www.techpowerup.com/272278/...whql-released-ampere-support-sli-finally-dead
I was planning on getting 2x SLI RTX 3090's since I have about 19 games in my Steam library (DX11 titles) that I know for a fact support SLI. I feel I'll need 2 GPU's to reach that 4K 120FPS (minimum) magic #.
Did Nvidia just kill off all DX11 and below SLI for the 3000 series? And only support the few DX12 games that game developers have optimized for multi-GPU solutions? Or am I reading this wrong?
I haven't had Nvidia driver issues on the consumer side or the enterprise side. You sound mad.Oh, and I'm sick of people crying about driver issues with AMD and not NVIDIA. You're lying to yourself and others about not having issues with NVIDIA drivers. You tolerate the issues more on NVIDIA than AMD.

Also, nvidia has nothing to do with mGPU (either explicit or implicit modes) in DX12. It's 100% on the game developers to turn it on (which most do not, unfortunately).
I'm going with 3080 AIB (most likely Gigabyte)...Founders sounds decent but I prefer the higher overclocking potential of AIB
AIB = Add In Board [Partners]What do you mean by AIB?
The way I see it is that I am putting a water block on whatever I get one way or another, so cooling will be the same.
Based on that Is rather have better silicon than worse silicon and if true that Nvidia keeps the best for themselves (I have no confirmation here) FE is the way to go.

Im kind of curious. Did anyone successfully get a card from nvidia.com? I think it would be hard to find someone as there are so many reports that their site went from coming soon to out of stock in a matter of actual seconds. One guy picked their website code apart and said that their site isnt even setup to sell the cards.
Im not someone who tried to get one and am sour because of not getting one, I woke up well after 9AMEST today. However this whole stock debacle and the way this launch has gone is in all honesty super shady.
No one here got one directly from Nvidia AFAIK and it literally went down like this - https://hardforum.com/threads/what-...e-for-thursday.2001372/page-8#post-1044729050Im kind of curious. Ahaha my placed and paid order when there were 5 cards in stock just got placed in a queue. I'm not getting my card.
Almost makes you wonder why they didnt just kill it altogether. This article better explains the new SLI restrictions vs the Techpowerup article:
https://videocardz.com/press-release/nvidia-sli-support-transitioning-to-native-game-integrations
Key points:
Existing SLI driver profiles will continue to be tested and maintained for SLI-ready RTX 20 Series and earlier GPUs.
For GeForce RTX 3090 and future SLI-capable GPUs, SLI will only be supported when implemented natively within the game.
AKA, if I buy 2x SLI RTX 3090's, I can kiss the SLI support on my 19 DX11 SLI supported games in my Steam library goodbye on using both GPU's. Therefore, I'm only getting 1 RTX 3090 and downsizing my system to something smaller such as ITX or MATX.

I mean why support it at all. Why even put a bridge connector on it?They did.
Its mGPU only moving forward.
Latency and transfer rate through the PCIE bus isnt enough for these cards.I mean why support it at all. Why even put a bridge connector on it?
It's awful for developers, which is why it's as rare as hen's teeth.Probably better for everyone putting the onus on the game devs to implement it through DX12 or not. Not sure how difficult this is to do in DX12 but at least there will be no more finger pointing.

Candidly: I'll eat my hat if it becomes something supported beyond a tiny handful of titles. It truly is a giant pain to implement, and for very few paying customers. I just don't see studios doing that when they already cut every corner possible, and a few that weren't.I've sworn off SLI and XFIAH more times than I care to admit and am still running SLI.
Guess we'll have to wait and see if it becomes prolific in future DX12 games.

Boilerplate drivel since they got their money xDhttps://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc.../5/398186/rtx-3080-nvidia-store-availability/
Statement from NVIDIA regarding availability.
How did you find out, if you don't mind me asking? Because I ordered from Proshop (in Denmark) and while they have my order in, I'm pretty sure they don't have one in stock for me!
Everyone who sold their 2080tis and 2080s in the hopes of snagging a 3080 were really stupid... lol. Like really... you needed that 160fps instead of the 120fps you were getting in your current favorite game? Which RTX title can you not wait to play that you needed to sell your 2080ti immediately at a loss? People are really funny sometimes. I can't believe people sold their 2080tis and 2080 cards at such a loss... the 2080ti is still an insanely powerful card and have no problem running any game right now and any in the foreseeable future... not to mention the fact that should you wait until say March or something when 3080 stock will be plentiful you'll still likely be able to sell it for around $500 or whatever they sold it for recently.
And also all the people who have GPU-less rigs right now are going to be buying other used GPUs and previous-gen ones to pass the time until stock is plentiful.

I would, but I don't have hard numbers to back that up.So are we officially calling this a paper launch yet?
If/when AMD has a launch like this, I know there will be a few forum members that would be calling it a paper launch hours ago.So are we officially calling this a paper launch yet?

I know friends who did this...but they all similarly claim they sold it at a high price to a "sucker".
