Borderlands 3

Will play day 1 for sure. I loved my Krieg build more than any other.

I tought they stated already b4 launch that there were not going to be new player char's, not that I would mind if they did add some.

DLC #4 has been announced today by Gearbox and 2K...titled 'Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck', it's set to launch on September 10th and will be included with the Borderlands 3 Season Pass...

This looks fantastic. Waaaaay better than the last DLC, which felt phoned in after the (mostly awesome) free Cartel event.
I'm curious what it'll change. They've been pretty mum about the new skill trees that leaked a couple months ago. I'm assuming those are still coming at some point. Feels like something that could be pushed to Year 2, though.
Personally, I want more OP'd gear. Throw balance out the window. The Cartel event was a blast because they tossed a half dozen uberweapons at us. Even with nerfs, they're still damn good even now. I want more of that. Don't nerf my current gear - give me something better!

Anyone get around to playing the new DLC yet? I got it downloaded but won’t get a chance to play until maybe Sunday. Initial reviews / feedback haven’t been great (too short, feels rushed, recycled environments) but it probably didn’t help that Gearbox was hyping it up to be as good as Tiny Tina’s DLC. Curious what folks here think.

I jumped in for a bit tonight, then promptly got sidetracked getting the last few bits of Claptrap's girlfriend and pirating a few radio towers I missed before. So no idea about that, but the game is running nearly 10% faster if I remember correctly- I wan hovering around 100fps with basically everything set to ultra, and now I seem to be around 110-115 fairly solidly (1080ti / 3440x1440).

Sample size = 1 , no causality I know...

I forgot this was coming so soon. I'm stuck with integrated graphics until (hopefully) around the 26th.
Any new weapons of note? Did the new skill trees show up or is that going to be a "Season 2" thing?

Not sure about weapons, but skill tree updates were sadly not part of the update. Just a level cap increase to 65.

Hint: If you're using the EGS, you may have to manually add the dlc to your game, it didn't download it until I did. But the game let you choose the quest, but "Kriegs Minds" destination doesn't show up to travel to. Why just this dlc needs this IDK.

Well, damn, this has a lot of feelers. Going to have to lay down.

I like the new DLC, on the shorter side, but at least more entertaining then the previous one.

Other than the boss fights, the DLC is fine. Not done yet but very near end, finishing up side quests. Ranks 3rd overall of the DLC's released.

The loot system needs a heavy revamp. Through all of the mobs, with M10 lootsplosion I have gotten 7 weapon legendaries to fall. 7. I have had well over 40 nades, trinkets and shields fall. Weapons were all the normal crap insta sold/dropped. Kinda sad my level 60 OPQ, Lob and Flipper, with non max rolls, can easily carry me through level 65. Even with the ridiculous bullet 'sponge' opponents at times.

Sitting at pointless max gold and 28k iridium.

Use the eridium to get more legendaries with that crafting gun

Yeah I heard about that change. I'm not willing to play gun spamalot and review a couple hundred junk weaps for one possible good one when I don't need it. Maybe when the level cap goes to 70 and my OPQ is no longer viable.

It still hurts that all sniper rifles are relatively useless in terms of real long range playthrough. My favorite play style.

Yeah, I was FLack/Fade with a sniper through most of the game, and then started running multi with a buddy and found out how bad it is online. I'm better with a decent shotgun and just ziz-zagging up to the boss and fade-shotting him in the head.

I favored the Atlas rifles through most of the game (and the first 3 DLC's), so I'm probably going to stick to the OPQ until it's no longer viable. Hopefully they'll have at least one more gold Atlas rifle show up before the end of Season 1. I wish they'd bring back the Cartel Mission and Heck permanently so we could get leveled up versions of the gear from those two. Most of the subsequent DLC gear just hasn't been that great...yet those two missions were free. At the very least bring back Heck for Halloween again. I need a level 65 Ghost Call in my life.

I'll try to remember to check, but I thought I saw a way into heck while playing this weekend... But I might be mistaken.

They will bring back both when the time comes, ie soon for the Halloween one. They are supposed to be a yearly thing.

Now that I have a GPU again, I'm starting to play this a little. I'm struggling to get into it, though. Feels like it's just hordes of spongy enemies and more of the same drops.
It doesn't suck, but I'm losing interest quickly. I think I might have hit a wall kinda like I did with Destiny 2.

I find I play it for a few days and then take a break. And it's common to hit a wall for a while, and then suddenly a new weapon opens up everything! I did at least two chapters with a blue / green shotgun because even the legendarys I found couldn't top it.

The more of these "Grind as a service" games you play the faster you start seeing through the bullshit I feel. Do I still play and enjoy them? Yes, but with each new grind my halflife becomes shorter.

Wasn't there a game about half life ? Hum something like half-life ?

Heck is up and running. It's the same as last year's as far as I can tell. I haven't gotten a Ghost Call to drop yet, but I guess it's there.
Difficulty, luckily, isn't off the charts. I'm on Mayhem 10 (level 61) and I was able to clear it on the first go. Haunt is pretty rough and so are a few of the gatekeeper enemies, but it's not even one of the more challenging areas in the normal game or DLC.

EDIT: Looks like they MAJORLY improved grenades. I'm seeing drops in M10 that are literally doing 10X more damage now. I got a M10 Ghost Call drop that does 70K in damage. Plus, it seeks out enemies (although not the invincibility drones). Fast Ball grenades can do more than 100K in damage. Enemies are dropping like flies to grenades again, yay!

I'm still slogging through the last DLC. Quite simply, I'm just not having fun with it. It's also crashing like a mofo on my 3090, too.

Oh wow about the crashing what card did you get?

EVGA 3090 FTW. It seems to be specific to Borderlands. I can run it through every GPU torture test I can find. Something about the game doesn't jive with it, though. I can max out everything ("Badass" settings) and get well over 60fps in 4K, but something in the background makes the game bomb out. Might be my build-out, might be my Mayhem roll, might be something else - but it tends to crash within 10-15 minutes.

Weird! Have you checked in on any of the 3090 owners forums to see if that's an issue for the whole series?

Thinking of getting this one, not much else I'm interested in playing. Of the DLCs, which ones are worth playing? Not interested in the slaughter dome type DLCs.

Honestly, all of the season 1 DLC's were pretty good, maybe not Lair of the Shadow Broker, or Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, but solid expansions with new loot, NPC's, exploration, etc...
