YesI already have the I7 4790K, OC to 4,5 GHz
What do you think, guys ? Should i upgrade to I7 8086K ?
Thank you
They are pretty much the same chip, the 8086 is just an overclocked Limited Edition Anniversary model for about $100 more.Someone told me, i should go for 8700K.
I don't understand this advice,
Thank you

The Silicon Lottery 5.0Ghz 8700k is a few bucks cheaper, and already comes delidded with liquid metal TIM. It's the better buy.
Don't do it. They are just binned 8700 - only thing unique is the name and price.
And the fact that Intel bins them from their 8700 lots and sells them at a higher price makes your chances at the 8700k silicon lottery that much less. So they screw consumers two ways - have their cake and eat it too.
Yes, they offer shipping to a wide variety of locations around the world. I think shipping would cost around 35 USD. (plus custom fees dependent on the country)Do these guys ship/post to Australia?
Tempted to get one if they do.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. Intel is doing us a favor pre-binning them, de-lidding them.

DON'T FUCKING COMPLAIN WHEN THEY GIVE YOU WHAT YOU ASK FOR!

This chip is all about binning for OC headroom. And it delivers.
But they didn't delid the 8086k.You can't have your cake and eat it too. Intel is doing us a favor pre-binning them, de-lidding them.

LOL!So you're paying an extra $85+ over the 8700k to basically guarantee a 5Ghz all core OC. According to SL, 86% of 8700k's hit 5Ghz after delid. I guess if you consider paying an extra $85 to remove the 14% chance of a non-5Ghz OC chip then "it delivers." It certainly doesn't "deliver" anything on value.
LOL!
Good golly the butthurt is epic here on this chip. Don’t like it? Don’t buy it.
Never before have so many been offended, angered and butthurt over $85...
Both of my non-delided 8700Ks hit 5.0. In order for AVX to be at 5.0 as well, the voltage has to be cranked and the temps are too high FOR MY LIKING.
Others would be just fine with the volts and temps. These give MORE HEADROOM which allows 5.0+ OCs with less volts and heat.
WHATS SO FREAKING HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT? That’s what you get with a binned chip. You don’t get 1000Mhz more, you get the best of the best samples intel has of a particular CPU. OC headroom.
For some, well worth the money. For others, not so much. To each his own, blah, blah.
You sound like a sheep who follows reviewers’ every word.Actually, you don't know what you're getting and you're assuming a rigorous binning. If Intel said these are the top 3% binned 6C/12T chips, then it might be worth $85 to some. Realistically, these are binned to ensure a 5Ghz single core load. That isn't worth $85. If reviews start coming out saying that all of these chips hit 5.1-5.2Ghz, then it might be worth it. But it sounds like the general consensus among reviews is to "SAVE YOUR MONEY."
Nowhere in there was there any "butthurt" or "anger." Just pointing out that $85 is a lot to spend on the unknown, especially when reviewers are telling you not to buy it. Unless, you plan on leaving it sealed in its box and think it will be a collector item (not likely).
You sound like a sheep who follows reviewers’ every word.
You’re putting a spin on this - most reviews I’ve read say that there’s definitely more room they experienced, and that if that’s worth it to you, by all means go for it, but in their opinion, it’s not worth it. Again, “worth it” is an opinion, not some fact. You have your opinion, others have theirs, I have mine.
Just the fact I was able to bring my non-delided 8086K 4.8 AVX from -2 offset to zero (5.0) with LESS voltage and heat is worth it to me. That right there tells you this particular one is binned well. I’ll have my other one arriving this evening and I bet the results will be similar.
Are you going to continue to argue opinions and economics vs facts on an enthusiast forum?
You sound like you're trying to justify a marginal upgrade.
Nope - you're the one fixated on making sure everybody knows "it's not worth it". Justifying it to yourself, really.
Let people spend their money how they see fit. It's their money.
When a new Titan card comes out, I don't hang out in the NV forums telling all the Titan kids they've wasted their money because there's a new Ti card right around the corner... Their money, their choice. Only they can decide if having the top card for 3 months is worth $xK dollars. To some it's "worth it." Again, opinions, not facts. The fact is the 8086K is a binned part - that is fact. The rest is wasted opinions.
I'm not disagreeing with the fact that it's a binned part. 99% of this forum is opinion LOL. We just don't know how well binned it is. A lot of hands-on experience seems to indicate that it is not worth the money. By your logic, we should all buy Titans because we are enthusiasts.
You are entitled to your opinion, and for those that buy them I hope they enjoy them. I'm just pointing out the other side of the argument.

You still aren't getting it. The INDIVIDUAL can decide if it's "worth it" to the individual. You still have this group/sheep mentality where everybody has to follow some person that dictates whether things are "worth it."
You want to be that dictator, relentlessly informing all that something is "worth it" or "not worth it". "Seems to dictate" - more of your opinions, not fact.
See what I'm getting at?
