It doesn't..I know how to do it. Just because I know how doesn't make it not a pain in the ass.

Yeah missed that, I just picked up on Sega advertising for these things. I hope that means the quality will be better. I don't recall seeing Sega providing advertising for the previous iterations. No, it is not. It is made by AtGames. AtGames has been producing officially licensed Sega hardware for 11 years. THEY HAVE ALL BEEN COMPLETE DOG SHIT.
Wow, I was just throwing some info out there for you in case you weren't aware of it - no need to get all uppity about it.It doesn't..I know how to do it. Just because I know how doesn't make it not a pain in the ass.

Hey, I never said those solutions were cheap!they want money for those XRGB scalers.
Just run emulators. Unless you have an original Genesis like myself, you aren't getting any different of a experience. And my Genesis/32X/SegaCD sits happily in the closet while I run RetroArch to play my old games.
I have the first gen AT games classic genesis. Sound is indescribable. Like YouTube videos make it sound better.. I mean sonic is literally sounds from the lavatory... And yet some of the clone consoles get it right.. I have an snes mini clone. Plays all of my cartridges perfectly and sounds like it should.. it's a good thing I grew up with snes
Been running launchbox/bigbox for about a year. Love it once everything is setup. Why not just get them all?
How is it for configuring joysticks that aren't the default of the setup? This seems to be what gets me on all of these types of front-ends.Been running launchbox/bigbox for about a year. Love it once everything is setup.
Mine are setup through the emulators, i.e. retroarch, cemu. Not launchbox. How is it for configuring joysticks that aren't the default of the setup? This seems to be what gets me on all of these types of front-ends.
Only 80GB to go until I find out
Sega has delayed the project and is having someone else finish it so it has the quality that everyone expects. Sounds like they want it to not be just another one of the junk boxes you see and actually match the quality of the Nintendo and Sony ones.I'm not going to count on it. Sega has plugged their ears and refused to listen to fans when it comes to AtGames for the past 11 years, I'd be surprised if they suddenly stared caring. Their social media pages had advertising for the Flashback HD, so they were out there pushing it.
Meh. Sega has gone back to the Genesis well waaaay too many times. You can also buy the megadrive combo pack which comes with damn near everything for PC for like $5-10. Plus all the shitty ATgames versions have dilluted the market. I predict these will be $40 or less really quick. Just look at the Playstation Classic. Only reason to buy one of those is to mod it, and they are $40 or less now.
OTOH, I want the Dreamcast Mini. Yeah I already own Crazy Taxi on PC, but still.
And as always.... I want an Amiga mini.
Those are the only mini's I want.

I'd be up for a Saturn rerelease. With the Japanese games that never made it over to North America or the games with limited release.
Shining Force, Saturn Bomberman, Dragon Force (sp?).
Interesting point. I never had any experience with the Saturn (too $$$ for me at the time) and it wasn't around long enough. There could be some unmined gold there.
Nice to see that it comes with Shining Force built in. Though I do consider SF2 a better game, original SF is still a classic.
I’m actually planning on that being my next console. I too had a neighbor with one and KNIGHTS was so much fun at the time.I was lucky, when I was a kid I had a friend with a Saturn and was able to play some games at his house. It was amazing, but I could never get my mother to buy one for me. I got a Saturn a few years ago and its the only old school system I've kept over the years. Its such and underrated gem of a console with some outstanding (and ridiculously expensive) games.
You might be waiting quite a while because of Rare games without mentioning bond and whoever owns the rights to goldeneye.Im waiting for an n64 mini, not this trash
Shining Force 2 is a better in terms of interface, gameplay and inventory management, but it's much worse than the first one, in terms of classes.
They standardized the class stat table, so every character of the same class is almost exactly the same (some tweaks, but nothing huge like the first one). In addition to this, they were lazy, so all later characters (who come automatically promoted) are assumed to be promoted at level 20. So SPOILER: the Red Baron is almost exactly the same statwize as your own level 20 promoted Baron (at the same level).
So, if you take the time to get your first round of characters up to level 25 before promotion, then you will have that bonus over all future already promoted characters of the same class. It makes the end of he game much easier (because you have a hard after-promotion XP barrier in every battle.) But it makes the rest of the characters you meet quite boring
In Shining Force 1, all character's XP tables are unique (as well as their growth after promotion), which can make late-game party additions a lot more interesting. There were a lot more one-off classes in SF1.
given that an RPi can't run N64 still, they're gonna have a tough time getting an N64 Mini. They need a CPU at the cost level of the RPi to make it happen. You might be waiting quite a while because of Rare games without mentioning bond and whoever owns the rights to goldeneye.
I’ll probably get this and that if it ever comes out though.
The N64 emulation scene is why I have an N64 and around 150-200 carts. It’s really not a fun system for emulation.given that an RPi can't run N64 still, they're gonna have a tough time getting an N64 Mini. They need a CPU at the cost level of the RPi to make it happen.
I still have a OG Genesis in the bedroom. Every now and then I fire up Sinistar (Williams classics) or Aladdin. This is kinda neat but I really want a Dreamcast one. Yeah yeah I know rpi etc emulation. I bought a PSX for $20 and the DC games kinda suck on it, either the emulation isn't great or the hardware can't keep up.
If I see one of these get to $20 I might get one.
