So looks like Fractal Design is coming out with a new case. Thoughts? Looks like I will be finally upgrading my Antec P183 V1 that I've had for many years now.

I really like the design of this case. Tempted to pick it up when its available.

Had been thinking of picking up a Fractal Design Meshify C for when I bite the bullet and build a new system, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to part with my optical drive. The R6 seems to be well liked going by the few Youtube reviews I watched after seeing this (I know, take with a grain of salt), but I still have an irrational concern about sound dampening foam and material... remember reading that the R5's was asphalt based (?) and don't know how I feel about fans blowing over that stuff and out into a small room for hours on end. Again, probably irrational, but just doesn't sit right.

Looks nice. I'd love to see them come out with a new mATX case that supports a 280mm AIO while still allowing for 1 optical bay.

I really like the look of that.

Too bad I just got a new case...

Id love to see a new mATX case as well.

Looks like there will be an optical drive bay in the R6 , so I am totally going to purchase it once its out!

I think it should be fine, as even Silverstone has been selling absorbing foam pads for cases for years. Though I plan to get the windowed version of the R6.

After working in the mATX Phanteks Evolv and seeing there is an mITX and ATX variant, I'm enamored with them. They're incredible.

I've really been looking forward to getting my hands on this case. It's been nearly five years since I've built a custom loop in a Fractal case, and this is one of the very few mid towers on the market that can accommodate an e-atx board (Zenith Extreme in my case) along with two 360mm radiators (60mm thick up front, 30 in the top.) I'm getting a bit inpatient though... I might try out the H700i if I can't buy an R6 soon.

They went up for preorder on Newegg today it looks like. $149 for the TG releasing on 01/15 and $129 for the regular releasing on 01/08.

Wow, thanks for the heads up!! I'm going to pre order it :D

Is it really hard to make something in white (serious question)?

I'd go for the Fractal meshify-C if it were available in white.

You can run it off a cardboard box (e.g. motherboard box). I'll probably do that after I sell my mITX setup.

They have the white version, but it's not available to pre order yet. They said soon

I actually Like that case..But You're just redneck and got the Loop thrown together between two Nightstands Lol

I had multiple “build quality” issues with my R5 that I ended up throwing into a dumpster a while back. I hope these new cases are better made.

Does anyone know if you can get a TG panel for the Meshify C that isn't dark?

I'm assuming the non-glass panel R6 will be quieter than the tempered glass design... Right?

I have the R5 now and love it except for a few things that have always bugged me. Side window was too small, R6 has a bigger (and TG even) window, check. No basement in the R5, R6 has one, check. R5 doesn't officially support EATX boards so my EATX board is a bit cramped at the moment blocking some wiring in the R5 since the mobo tray is recessed while the R6 supports some EATX boards, again, check. Not sure how I feel about having a power supply bracket but whatever. I also like that the R6 allows you to mount your SSD's on the basement to show them off, ANOTHER small but nice upgrade. I ALSO like how the rad support on the top of the case is now offset.

But the big decision is do I want to spend $150 on a case with small upgrades over the current one I have and have an extra case sitting around...hmm, I'm sure that would go over well with wifey!

the problem is no one buys them.. that's why the white versions of cases are always the ones getting put on the shell shocker deals or heavily discounted.

Defective USB ports (fractal replaced) plus a rattlely defective side panel which I just lived with until I threw it away.

I try to build a new system every year (that might not happen anymore starting this year). New system always gets a new case. Only have had qualtiy issues with Fractal and NZXT. Zero problems with Corsair, Cooler Master and others over the years.

Looks like i found my next case!:) I like everything about it!

I currently own 3 Fractal Design cases, 2 R4's and a full tower, don't remember the model. I haven't had any problems with any of them and one of the R4's was purchased used on eBay. Funny how that works. Reminds me of my TP-Link Archer C7 router. If I were shopping for a router today, I would not pick the C7 because of the generally poor reviews but my personal experience with it has been absolutely perfect. I've had it for probably 3 years now, at least and i have not had to reboot it or deal with it in any way except for an occasional tweak as my network has changed. But I did flash it to WRT-DD when I bought it. Maybe that's why I haven't had any problems.

You can get a defective Lexus or iPhone or anything. It happens. I've only had one fractal product but needless to say I wasn't impressed with the quality. I like their designs though and the price point.

I hope [H] get one to review asap....I need a new case bad. How are these known for cooling in general?

Really... when I was setting up a price alert for the Fractal R5/window case, I got several alerts for Black models before I saw one for the White model (and none for the Titanium).

I can definitely see that they're much limited production wise.

Does anyone know if this case would fit horizontally mounted GPUs in addition to a vertically mounted GPU?

i don't know specifically about the R5 since i wasn't interested in it but i'd say 9 out of 10 case "sales" if there's a white version available it's always the one that's massively discounted over the black version since they're not in high demand.

It's a little peculiar the cases are now (almost) a week late arriving into Newegg.

The Port of Long Beach is only like 40 minutes from their warehouse. No mud slide issues apparently in that area, no major traffic delays... And assuming they are made in China, transport to Long Beach one would think would be pretty straightforward. Oh and they apparently sent a ton of these units out to reviewers. So the manufacturing seems to have been well under control.

I can see being a little off on the date... But a whole week is just surprising, at least to me. Maybe this is SOP for FD?

Although Newegg is the only place I can find a published date that suggested availability of 1/8. Who knows its real origin...

I would think they arrive by ship and who knows how long it takes to unload and send out the freight

A week delay doesn't shock me in the least! Lol

New date is 1/24 on their website... :(
Ill be waiting too lol......it just looks so much more maintenance friendly than my 900...dressing up cables be like 1000 times easier after swapping failed hardware and looks way easier to keep clean...And besides i would need a new case when i build new again anyway!:) Even if that is a little ways off

You're fortunate you don't have a massive build waiting like me. It's painful to just look at all the new (expensive as hell, 2tb 960 pro for instance)... Just sitting there.

Oh and I'm on the other side of the US so it will take a full week to get here once they ship it.
