Fallout 4

Mouse and keyboard controls sound pretty good across the board, with a few exceptions- settlement construction and multiple functions tied to 1 key

great in the year 2015 ? i dont think so.. the engine is so old i wish they did a new one about time eh..

Bethesda updated the hell out of their game engine. It's not the same as one they built FO3 and Skyrim on. Unreal engine it's not, but it is much improved.

VPN was fine for me, but I pay 50 bucks a year for mine. Unlocked at about 7:30am CST this morning.

with the game being so combat heavy it sounds like Persuasion, Intelligence, Charisma don't really matter as you can't really talk your way out of combat...persuasion and intimidation options are largely restricted to wringing a little more information or booty out of quest-givers

I am surprised to see a lot of people putting only 1 point into Strength...doesn't that severely limit your ability to be an item/scrap hoarder? :D

That sucks.

My Amazon order still says Preparing for Shipment...starting to get a bit worried it's not going to show up tomorrow. Claims that it is but unless they ship it overnight express I don't see that happening.

"Package arrived at a carrier facility" in town.
Think they would be understanding if I showed up and saved them hassle of delivering it tomorrow?

mine hasn't officially shipped yet either but it's showing as 'arriving tomorrow by 8:00 PM'...I'm not worried, Amazon uses messenger services here in NYC on overnight or release day orders...if you have Prime you're guaranteed to get it on time...on the plus side if you don't get it tomorrow Amazon will credit you some $$ so you win either way

I always trust Eurogamer's reviews over everyone else...

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-11-09-fallout-4-review

"Your reaction to Fallout 4 will depend greatly on your expectations. If you're a fan of the series - or at least Bethesda's rebooted first-person take on it - then you'll find everything you wanted, and more. If you despair of Bethesda's creaking game engine, with its frequent glitches, stutters and occasional fatal crashes, then you'll also find everything you feared

That's the beauty of Bethesda's approach to sandbox design - you won't know until you investigate...When so many open-world games lead you by the nose to every last collectible, splattering your map with icons that tell you exactly where specific items can be found, Fallout's genius remains the way that it uses waypoints and map markers to show you the start of the trail, not the end

visuals that look far better than previous Bethesda games while still falling short of what most people will expect from "next-gen" systems...

How does the players base work?

Is there only one? Or are there a few within the map? One at a time only?

Pretty sure I'm going 10 Int and at least 8 Cha just for the XP, crafting, and settlement mechanics, so even if the above is true I'm not too worried.

Not if you're willing to spend a lot of time travelling back to your home base. :)

Multiple. I haven't seen a number and I'm just about to start the game now, but I'd guess at least 6. And you can set up trade routes and stuff between them, and install companions to help take care of them while you're gone.

Oh nice!
Very cool.

the power armor is odd for having a nuclear reactor it goes dead way way to fast and you get it in the first few hours of playing but just walking around drains it fast. cant wait for mods to come out

I heard the same complaints in multiple places...makes using it almost pointless

If anyone finds a way to disable Mouse Acceleration while also fixing the Y-Sensitivity issue please post it immediately. :) Right now I'm being forced to play with acceleration enabled and it's awful.

yep i went form 50% core to 25% just walking back to town guarding the guy.

can you make some thing that makes new cores? if not and you have to find them they better be a shit load of them.

other then that not a bad game the ui is a step back form nv and you can tell its made for xbox

Seems like it's extremely powerful, though, so limiting its use makes sense. From what it sounded like, the idea is that you fast travel to and from it when you need to use it. (I guess fast traveling in it doesn't use fuel?)

I think you'll find your perception of Power Armor changing as you get deeper into the game.

wow i fired my gun 6 times and went form 20% core to 0 when you ues vats it drains it super fast.

and nope fast traveling doesn't use fuel what a crap system.

Anyone playing above 60fps see any problems yet?
Other people are claiming the game physically goes faster at 100+ FPS.

Remove Mouse Acceleration
Mouse acceleration appears to be on by default in Fallout 4. To remove it we simply do more or less the same thing one did for skyrim. Open Fallout4.ini (C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\).

Scroll down to [Controls], and under this add the below line:
bMouseAcceleration=0

Note: this will not remove it from menus or similar, but it removes it from 'within' the game.

Theres some more tweaks here:

When I disable mouse accel it causes the sensitivity on the Y-axis to drop.
So basically I turn left/right faster than I look up/down. I don't see any individual adjustments to each axis in the INI files either.

It's really slight, maybe 10% lower sensitivity on the Y-Axis. But I can feel it when running around. It's fixed while aiming.

Lol. Even still, 7.5 being the "horrible" Score is pretty awesome.

Steam will release the game at 9pm est tonight?

I don't think so. 12 EST. 9 PST. Get your ass to a VPN, son.

or maybe that's the way they really feel  ...far be it from 1 site to differ in opinion from the masses less they be labeled a interloper or worse...Destructoid is usually good with reviews

So apparently Bethesda once again gives the shaft to 120hz/144hz users. Completely breaks the game once you go past 64fps.

is any one having problems with the kill the raiders in the plant mission? i been though the plant at least 5 times and all around it, is it kill all the raiders or are i missing something?
