iPhone 5 is officially the worlds most powerful phone

So you're still wrong, got it!

Nope

JB for GS3 is not yet out. So right now, iPhone5 is most powerful.

AND even when Android phones surpass the iPhone, the iPhone is still more efficient, meanting more performance per cycle.

So in other words, I'm still hundo percent right.

So let's ignore WP8 for having high-end hardware and a more efficient OS... gotcha.

What a crass and tasteless posting style, OP. Regardless of whether anything you say has the slightest merit--and judging by your tone, I'd wager it doesn't--that kind of presentation won't likely win anyone over.

I guess you still haven't gotten it about Android. But if you are always in a closed OS, I guess it would be hard to imagine that on Android you can get custom ROM's before official ones, which often run very nicely. Quite the difficult concept to understand, I know.

I already covered that you can hack your phone into higher marks using custom builds and unofficial releases. So looks like I get it just fine.

I welcome you to research my claims for yourself. I've provided convienient links in the OP.

OP, is this some kind of personal accomplishment? Did you build this phone from scratch?

Why do you care? It's a product you buy, anyone can buy it. You've done nothing to build it nor will any of this particularly matter if you use it and enjoy it. Go enjoy it if that's what you want to do.

This keeping up with the Jones' crap needs to stop. Do people seriously define themselves this much by what stuff they buy?

Sometimes guys, ignorance is bliss.

Apple has been claiming that iOS is the fastest, best mobile OS since v1, so if you believe them why do all these specs matter? It's quite funny that benchmark scores are being used since they have little to do with real world performance. In daily use, you're going to notice a larger screen much more than some immeasurable difference in how fast a website loads.

It doesn't matter what the specs are. It will always be the most restrictive phone experience due to iTunes and Apple's walled garden.

Are you trying to convert people? For a new user, WP7/8 is the easiest/most intuitive phone experience. For a power user, its Android. For those stuck with Apple, its iOS. It's as simple as that.

Which is cheating in your opinion? But comparing two completely different OS is fine? The fuck.

So why do Android fans insist on comparing the specs of the iphone with their phones? They are two different OS'es after all.

The fuck bro.

Last I recall, you made a thread here comparing specs.

Although I do agree, it is kind of lame. The only spec that should really be compared is resolution and maybe screen size.

I would say Pentile vs non pentile matters more. The GS3 supposedly is 720P, yet pentile reduces effective pixels by 1/3, putting the actual living pixel number below ip5.

Might not matter much in real world usage, I hear the screen is quite nice. But I personally think thats spec inflation.

The only reason is that I see so many Android lovers creaming their pants about quad core 1.5ghz processors, etc. Never considering that those numbers might not matter when it comes to real world performance, and trying to criticize the iPhone for having a lower mhz number.

Now, the iPhone5 crushes the competition, including the quad core S3. And what do we see?

Minimization from the android fans.

Not surprising.

Actually many of us didn't "cream their pants" over a quad core because we never got the quad core version due to LTE. Only the One X on AT&T is quad core here in the US at this time.

No one buys a Nexus for the hardware because while there might be something new (NFC or the 720p screen for example) but the hardware is usually slightly older (see the OMAP CPU in GNex). Android people buy Nexus because it's pure Android and untouched by OEM's.

I'm glad Apple finally released hardware that beats 10 month old hardware. It makes the Android OEM's have to improve their own hardware. Here's a news flash though: here on the [H] we've been seeing that happen for well...FOREVER with every type of CPU from Intel and AMD over the last 2 decades.

If you go research the SGS3 the big thing about that wasn't the dual core S4 in the US version or the quad-core Exynos in the International version. Instead it was the 2GB of RAM on the S4 version for multi-tasking that everybody was talking about.

I didn't see any major Android site bitch about the CPU or RAM in iPhone 5. They all made comments about the screen resolution and size since Android has the iPhone smoked in that arena and has since at least 2010. Not to mention if anybody actually thought Apple would do a quad-core in the iPhone before the iPad they need to be slapped. That's not how Apple works.

I promise you the iPhone5 will outperform the S3 on jellybean in real world performance.

What do I mean by that? I mean downloading web pages, opening email, loading apps....the stuff you do with your phone.

Not just "feel"

I get why people like Android. You can steal stuff. Thats terrific. But stop trying to act like its because the hardware is superior.
you dont even have the jesus phone yet and your claiming it is going smoke every thing in every thing forever.

also Jb on the gs3 is out on some carriers Telstra, Optus and t-mobile

By the time you get one in your grubby mitts it will not only be out of date it will have been jailbroken and a few patches will have been out for ios6

On the upside you can now spend 300-1000 on the god phone and buy all new cases and an adapter for any dock devices you had or new dock devices. Since none of your old ones will work now.

-Posts this article / stirs the pot because "Android lovers cream their pants and blab MHz numbers / bash I phone"

-Does the exact same thing against Android users that's causing him to post nonsense.

Seems legit to me. Maybe the solution is everyone needs to shut the hell up and just use their damn phones for themselves instead of using it to show others?

"SunSpider scores average at 924ms, which is more than twice as fast as the 2,200ms the iPhone 4S manages and still quite a bit quicker than the 1,400ms scored by the Galaxy S III and the 1,700ms managed by the HTC One X. More important than numbers, web pages load very quickly, snapping into view as fast as your data plan can shovel the bits into Safari and, once there, smoothly reacting to your gestures.

Naturally, we'd be telling just half the story if we only talked performance. There's an important question that's left: what kind of battery life can you expect? Power is nothing without longevity and, shockingly, the iPhone 5 copes amazingly well. In a day of heavy usage with LTE, GPS and WiFi all enabled, we managed 14 hours and 18 minutes before the phone succumbed to the elements.

On our standard battery rundown test, in which we loop a video with LTE and WiFi enabled and social accounts pinging at regular intervals, the iPhone 5 managed a hugely impressive 11 hours and 15 minutes. That's just 10 minutes shy of the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx."

I dont care who you are, thats impressive.

And thats with a 1400mAH battery vs 3300 in the Razr maxx. Want to talk efficiency?

iPhone 5 is a feat of engineering that will result in even better phones all around.

Wow those battery numbers make my Galaxy Nexus HUGELY jealous. I only wish I could get anywhere near 6hrs on usage. Custom ROM using Jellybean my GNex barely gets 3hrs of web browsing on LTE and thats with my extended battery. I have to go through both my standard and my extended on a long day... If those 8hr LTE web browsing times are to be believed then I might have to get the my first iPhone since the 4 that is if the Lumia 920 isnt just as good.

Honestly if you're doing that much non-phone type stuff you should just get a tablet.

Wow all this power will be so appreciated by the masses of phone users that.......

Text, email, make calls, Twitter, Facebook and use Instagram. That's about it.

I bet they would really appreciate a battery that goes maybe three days on the go than any CPU upgrade.

Ask 99% of iPhone and Android users what CPU their phone has and I bet they wouldn't have a clue.

That battery life is truly impressive. Apple knows how to stretch their battery life. They've always excelled at that. If anybody disagrees they need to be slapped because the evidence is out there.

I look forward to seeing Anand's iPhone 5 review.

just think they could have left it the same thickness and used all the extra room for a bigger battery and they could have blown away the razer maxx rather than get within the margin of error

But so far i am seeing only 3 improvements
battery life, faster processor, and bigger screen

Nothing in ios 6 is new
i guess the biggest thing is they now include bloat ware on the device...

The iphone 5 is a hardware refresh it could have been called the iphone 4s slim.

Battery life does look impressive, I dont mind giving credit where credits due but its the apple lies behind the hype that really grates me.

i get mine on friday :) bought one for my fiance too and my mother got one also hahaha.

we are getting 700$ worth of phones on friday hahaha thats after contracts :p

apple must be so god damn rich.

Wait, so a brand new phone you can't even buy yet is faster than something that's been out for several months now? You don't say, I'm just fucking flabbergasted.

somebody owns an S3 ova here

You're right I do, and guess whose wife is getting an Iphone 5? Not a fanboy, couldn't honestly give a shit, I just hate "spin" in the tech world, it's useless fanboyism and not reflective of real world user experiences.

What are they lying about? Seems like the iPhone 5 is solid.

So right. Why play the fanboy game when you can get them all and enjoy them all? I get whatever is the best when I feel like it, no need to feel locked down to any brand or ecosystem. All of this from Apple will undoubtedly make the next iteration of the Galaxy S even that much better and all other high end phones will benefit from some competition. I hope someday though Android OEMs will take battery life more serious and do some serious optimization because in general High end android phones have terrible battery life, they counter this by making the battery so frickin huge its almost stupid.
