According to Disney, if you use open source software...you are an idiot.

Well that's just it--"According to Disney..."
Since when have they ever been an authority in these matters? Oh right, since never (Pixar excluded).
I'm a rookie for sure. However, the mirror for OpenOffice seems to be down. Rookie mistake here: anyone know of a second mirror?
The mirror is on the wall. Ask it what it thinks is the best office suite of them all.
Worrying about stupid things like this affecting the minds of children is just about as stupid as people thinking video games are inciting violent behavior.
Microsoft Office. Just can't afford it at the moment. Google Doc's isn't available at work (cloud storage). I have Dropbox (that's allowed), and could save there. I wouldn't mind OpenOffice, as it works perfect for what I'm going to use it for.
Actually, I'm partial to the fork of OpenOffice that happened after Oracle bought Sun Microsystems and started to get sort of heavy-handed about open source projects. Look in on LibreOffice if you get a chance and don't mind being a bit adventerous.

I've been pretty happy with it from a casual use perspective, but I admit that I don't wander outside of the word processor very often and, just like OpenOffice, there are some formatting quirks when a document ends up crossing suites into a Microsoft product.
I don't know I think that's a pretty minor "dig" at best. I'll bet you half of the Disney execs don't even understand the term "open source"
