What's it like being stupid?

It's because they and the gamers are sick of people ruining games by exploiting. All the data is server side = much better online experience. And before you say "learn to stop exploits." The very way to stop them is by knowing how to make them. It doesn't matter how good the code is, if the data is client side, it can and will be manipulated.
 
yep... I just got kicked out after spending a lot of time clearing an area... wtf, over?
 
Just gained a new level and server crashed. No checkpoint. Gay. Might as well shelf the game until they get their shit together.
 
So what were they doing exactly during the beta? I could understand if it was one region having unexpected problems, but every region is getting fuxxored today.
 
anybody think people are tryin to hack the blizzard servers? or trollin with some attack?

i just got home from work and softball and installed just to be stuck in this server down situation :(
 
I was just about to open this gigantic chest =( serious, it was HUGE. Down in some waterworks area. Somebody's fortune from when they were alive. I had to open a gate by pulling two levers to get to it.

20 seconds more and the loot would have been mine!
 
Since you guys are all on here can people tell me what they think about the class they chose? If it feels strong, weak, etc
 
If this is what it takes to get rid of the dupers, cheaters, and other assorted script kiddies who ruin the game, then I'll take it.

Many an online game has been ruined by these type of a-holes. Down time? I can deal with that.

The monk feels pretty damn OP in my opinion...at least levels 1-15. I was getting massacres of 20-35 on a regular basis. Even got a 75 kill streak when there were 3 of those bug hatchery's all next to one another -which I solo'ed in a 3 person game. That being said, I still enjoy the way the wizard plays most of all.

Best combo - group up as many as possible at close range then frost nova, explosive blast, wave of force, then arcane orb whatever is left. It's devastating to everything at this point.

Not everyone cares for multiplayer. I do but some dont. Blizzard could have put in a single player game.

Regardless of what Blizzard does, there will always be exploits. Diablo 2 had them, WOW had them, and so will this game. There will always be people who find em.
 
Can the keybindings be changed? I don't even use 1 and 2 because I'm always having to hold shift and press Alt to refresh loot drops (game is really bad about showing loot).

from my brief experience, yes
 
I wonder what kind of numbers they throw around for projections of players.

Something like (arbitrary numbers for example)
"There were are 3 million pre-orders of Diablo"
"Lets have server capacity for 12 million"
Day 1 server beyond capacity by 3 million more

You'd think they'd play on the safe side for capacity, but I wonder how far above actual numbers are above what they considered "safe guess"

Cataclysm wasnt as bad launch night, but I guess WoW servers are on a different class (in price and capacity) than D3 servers.
 
my barbarian is now level 24. I think I've died only 3 times so far in the whole game. Got really close several times though. Those glowing yellow monsters can be pretty tough. It's been tons of fun so far.

How long have you been playing?
 
I recommend checking the auction house every so often.. Sometimes people put up something really good for a really low buy it now price.

I have to laugh at the people wanting 100k+ for some items though. The auction only lasts 2 days. No matter how epic the gear nobody will get that much gold that quick.
