"Dark Souls : Prepare to Die Edition" coming to PC.

Yes, you can. Usually people want to either see a boss to undestand his mechanics, or help someone on a boss they just learned. You can summon people anwhere if they've left an inscription.

I hear the consoles have frame rate problems, so if the PC version runs smoothly, I predict it will be a big hit critically and commercially.

Really? I've never really seen summon signs anywhere besides directly outside the boss room.

That's actually the worst place to put a summon sign. Generally the best way to be summoned is to place your sign as close to the bonfire as possible, so that the host sees you first. It is fairly true that you can only coop for bosses though, as once you've killed the area boss you can no longer summon other players in that area, though you can still be summoned yourself.

On topic, I pretty much thought of it as confirmed when I saw that Australian magazine at the end of last month. Either way, super excited. This game is just plain amazing. So many hours lost to it...

Not a fan of GFWL, but I do still like getting achievements on PC games. Gotta look at the silver lining :p

Oh and GFWL sucks but it didn't stop me from getting the Batman games and it won't stop me from getting this is the port is good.

Yep. Hate GFWL, but for some games I'm willing to deal with it. NamcoBandai and From Software aren't exactly PC studios so I can't really blame them for going with something they're familiar with.

Based on the trailer it seems like the framerate is not great. I hope this isn't framelocked to 30 FPS or something...

GFWL doesn't bother me too much. I prefer Steamworks but it's not a huge issue for me.

It looked 60 FPS, but every animation has motion blur so that may be affecting your perception of it.

They might be transferable. There have been PS3/PC games where with small utilities you could transfer your saves over.

That wasn't what he was getting at.

GFWL has the "ability" to invalidate your save games, and many have experienced it at least once, including me. It's why I will never bother trying to finish Bioshock 2 or RE5.

Arent all Youtube videos 30fps.

Not what I meant. Specifically, I meant at the end there where he is fighting the white creature, it seems laggy to me. Could just be the motion blur as someone else said, though.

At least the GFWL guarantees my pad is going to work...

Still going to buy it. I want something different and challenging.

Rumor is no custom key bindings.

I hope they don't hurt their own sales by forcing that.

Buuut...

•New Bosses - Including Artorias of Abyss, Chimera of Tomb, and more
•PVP Online Matchmaking System - Quick matching for co-op or PVP
•New Areas – Including Oolacile Tomb, Old Ruins and more
•New Enemies – Including Abyss Guard, Chained Prisoner and more
•New NPCs – Including Hawkeye Gough and more
•New Weapons and Armor – Equip some from the new bosses, enemies, and NPCs

Main reason Street Fighter 4 was the last game I bought with it. (Yeah, I skipped Batman.)
Everytime I think about playing GTA 4, I dont because I remember that I have started that game over 4 times, because of GFWL. Saves, login issues, forced quiting for updating. It's a stupid, broken "service" that ends up breaking every game that uses it. I'm not paying for a broken game....

Namco Bandai has to be the most stupid publisher around. All it needed to do was put Steamworks in but no, it had to go into Moron Mode and choose GFWL instead.

...Will probably still get this though.

It could have went Cool Mode and put neither.

I guess.. Steamworks doesn't make a game better.. I can think of plenty of Steamwork titles that are shitty console ports. The whole DRM thing irrelevant and a side issue ( Since PC DRM is here to stay ). How its ported to PC is way more important.

The main reason it's stupid is because if you pirate the game, it works just fine.

I am not condoning pirating games. Since the advent of Steam sales, and other digital download services following suit, purchasing games even six months after their release is very affordable.

I've become spoiled by games that only use Steam for their DRM. Download game. Run game. Setup video and controls once. Play.

To be honest, I'd even take Origin as a runner up here, but GFWL needs to die in a fire.

I disagree. It doesn't matter how good the game is if you can't progress through it because your saves keep getting deleted. Steamworks has no history of invalidating save games, even when they're synced to the Steam cloud.

Yes if I buy a GFWL game, it's despite GFWL, not because of it. They really are shooting themselves in the foot going with GFWL. It will have to be a phenomenal port, for me to consider it now. :(

Now do I finish it for the PS3 (I put it down to play Skyrim and I just haven't had a change to pick it back up yet) or wait and buy it again on PC... decisions decisions...

It's one of the least intolerable forms of DRM...so if a publisher is insistent on having DRM at all, I'd prefer it be Steamworks. It makes purchasing the game from digital retailers like Amazon a lot easier for Australians too...

You disagree? You would rather have a shitty console port.. Even if it had Steamworks.. I'm sorry but that is just plain retarded.

Steamworks has nothing to do with the quality of the game.. or how well its ported.. And it does not improve... "THE GAME". It improves the convenience. But has ZERO to do with the game.

The truth is.. Both should be removed.. No DRM is better. And Steam is not save proof.. I have lost steam cloud saves.. and had some rolled back because there servers went down.

I'm sorry but quality of Console to PC Port.. Far out trumps Steamworks.

I think you're missing my point. I'm saying the quality of the game is irrelevant if you cannot play it.

Amazon is great, but I think they need to allow you to change where you want to download the files to for regular games. Its a slight annoyance having to move the files from my OS drive to my games drive. Its still the most lightweight though, doesn't require any program from amazon.
