What's a guy gotta do to fucking have a working server browser that shows ping times?

The really retarded thing about Battlelog IMO is that when you browse servers it will only show you a few...you have to continuously scroll down to get more. So if you don't, what ends up happening is you have like maybe 2-6 servers with sub-100 pings, when there are clearly more.

Kind of a stupid way of doing it.
 
Sickeningly true. It's been a long while since I've seen someone using the M249 without those two attachments.

Then you haven't run into me, struggling to get kills against everyone else who has them.

I swear, this is the last time I ever play a multiplayer shooter that's centered around unlocks.

set your filters and sort it

like 1 click and roll of the scroll wheel and there's 20 servers sitting there.

It would be nice if you could set it to get x number of servers, instead of always only 10 or 20 or whatever it is. I get tired of scrolling also (I'm in Hawaii, so harder to find decent pings). That first group is usually pretty good though, so they might be doing some pre-sorting.

My point is, any other server broswer will first get a master list of servers, check pings to each, and then display the results. Battlelog just seems to randomly grab a few servers whether you ping well to them or not (most of the time there are like half a dozen sub-100 for me at the most from the initial refresh).
 
This is for those folks that just don't "get" the physics behind why some items/weapons in this game need to be toned down.

M240B and to a somewhat lesser extent, all light machine guns:

M240B has the quickest time to kill BY FAR of any gun in the game. .16 seconds! It only takes 3 rounds to kill someone under 15 meters on normal servers and only 2 rounds to kill someone on hardcore server. TWO rounds. It is also quite accurate with a fore-grip installed until the muzzle rise starts to effect it after about the 3-4th round. That is why it is so powerful, it has a high rate of fire, MASSIVE bullet damage, huge amount of ammo not needing reload hardly ever, and is very accurate for the first few rounds. The first few rounds happen to be all that is needed to kill someone, hence why it is so powerful. Need to know why half the noobs in the game are M240B/fore-grip/IRNV players? It's the class cheese of the entire game.


IRNV scope:

Everyone knows that cover/concealment and environmental affects are a large part of BF3. When you use a traditional scope, you have to visually see through it. Smoke, explosions, rocks, trees, shrubbery, lighting all hinder your use of a traditional scope. The IRNV removes ALL of those limitations. Every single one of them. Sure it has some limitations. 1x magnification and limited field of view. All of that doesn't matter when you have highly accurate weapons and you can center aim magnificent bright glowing opponents at any range. The fact that you can shoot someone through a huge canopy of solid trees, or shoot someones glowing foot sticking out behind that rock. All in bright daylight is totally absurd. Hence why a massive amount of poor players use this item as a crutch.


M320 aka n00b tube:

Immensely powerful and large splash damage for anti-personnel. You might ask, with all those engineers with RPG's, aren't they just as powerful? Yes, an RPG is more useful for anti-armor. In the anti-personnel world, it isn't even in the same ballpark as the M320. To fire an RPG at personnel you have to have line-of-sight. Line of sight means if you can see your target, your target can see and kill you. This constantly puts you in harms way. Same thing for the M320 right? WRONG. The M320 is "lobb-able" over obstacles. This combined with a huge splash radius (2-3 times as larges as an RPG), makes it over powered and hence why yet again, you see massive amount of people relying on it as a crutch and getting massive kills. The key to the M320 is it is NOT line-of sight. What does that mean? You can fire it without putting yourself in harms way in MANY situations. That combined with massive splash damage equals overpowered.

That sucks, now I am off to use battlelog and its server browser which works flawlessly for me every time, so thankful it inst just another POS in-game browser.

He has valid points. The irnv is not realistic in any way and people, incl. myself exploit the hell out of it. The m240b is really op, you can spray from the hip and get multi kills before you are even touched / enemies can defend themselves. M320 feels like call of duty style noob tubing. I can't count how many times I've been completely destroyed when taking cover when I know an enemy is nearby. I only use hand grenades and never liked noobtubing.

I'm not complaining because i do exploit 2 / 3 things he has listed, but again he does have valid points. The game is fun, so i dont believe telling someone that has valid points to stop playing is correct in saying so. Its not like he is trolling or some shit and not backing up what he has been posting. He isn't the only one that believes the game can be fixed in certain areas. Just check the origin forums. TONS of people crying without backing up what they post. At least he does.

On another note, been disconnected from about 20 servers today. This is getting ridiculous. I've even manually updated PB. Seems more and more people are getting affected by this on the official forums. I think the problem is getting worse over time.

I've had that issue since launch.

Using firefox with noscript and adblock. I'm thinking the issue has something to do with the plugins/firefox loading.

I've only just begun to have that issue myself. The last couple nights, the very first launch it would just sit at a black screen. I don't use Battlelog with no-scipt, but I've got adblock enabled, even though everything on Battlelog is enabled.

My reticle disappears. I have to change weapons to get it back. I see others reporting this problem but no solution. Could it be a driver issue?

I searched this thread to no avail..

Your best weapon is the engineer weapon with the lowest kill time/highest bullet damage. Nerf the scarh please. Its a crutch for noobs.

irnv sight is fine. nothing op about. Zooming with the other scopes makes people easier to see too. Should zoom get nerfed? Its also only 1x which makes it a lot harder to kill at a distance. Ive been leveling the guns to 100kills and don't feel at any disadvantage while I don't have it. M249 is fine to. Against player that's sort of alive, at a distance you'll be out shot. And in other shooting situations the difference between weapons is negligible, time to kill on the chart is fraction of seconds, bullet damage is different by around ten at the most. It comes down to lag and reaction. Really most guns are the same none of the scopes are op.
 
how to fly jets with mouse? I end up having to lift the mouse constantly because it reaches the edge of the mousepad as soon as i try to pitch up/down/sides. Im using 1300 dpi.
 
anyone able to play today? Havent gotten into battlelog since early yesterday

Battlelog is telling me there is an update available for my browser plugin (this is with Chrome). So I downloaded the update and installed it... and now Battlelog is telling me there is an update available for my browser plugin. :confused: Seems to be a glitch of some sort.

Battlelog works for me in Firefox but it is INCREDIBLY sluggish.

Anybody having these problems lately?
 
I hope the next patch fixes the killcam enabled bug. On servers that have it disabled, it's still enabled for certain random people. I experience this frequently on hardcore servers.
 
I will try the spacebar, any other suggestions or other keys avaliable that i could use while i use the mouse strickly for aiming?

if I was able to play, lol, I just kill 68 ennemies with a nife, ( in 5 rounds ) that's give me 17 ribbons and my melee medal......yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss


edit , and level me up to Col 8 stars may be I should change my nick from GG-Snipes to GG-Knifes
 
Yeah, Battlelog keeps timing out for me... I can't get on now, and it didn't work yesterday either.

I agree. There are so many hackers, cheaters, and people using everything in the book to gain an advantage. There really isn't any reason to complain about it here since it gets nothing done. Complaining about it on the EA forums *MAY* get something done. I do agree the IRNV needs to be nerfed, but I will still continue to use it until its fixed. I earned it playing with the weapon, so I'm going to use it.

Fact is, once one thing is fixed, people will find other ways to get ahead. People bitching about crap players using these things as a crutch really need to take a step back and look at their own stats and their own playstyles. The truely great players find countermeasures against these issues, then adapt and continue playing. I see it several times a night where someone continues to use certain methods (e.g. camping a corner, etc.) to continue to rack up their score. The bitches sit there and bitch about it over chat. The great players find away around it then puts them in their place.

I think losing the medkit is usually too big a tradeoff, so the only times I'll spawn with it is if we're getting wrecked by a camper and he needs to be cleared out. Even in that situation the M320 w/ smoke works very well too.

In a few instances the mortar has been way more annoying. It was horribly abused in a few Rush rounds I played, so I've mostly just stuck with CQ since the maps are mostly more open with less obviously abused chokes to spam like in Rush.

I have noticed that I lose a higher percentage of engagements to IRNV users and frequently get clipped when I don't even know where they are. I haven't reached a breaking point yet, but I've only been able to get in like 10 hours so far. I'm hoping by the time I start getting really pissed it will be nerfed to some degree. What I'd like to see is a further reduced viewable area and have the glow fade over distance. As long as I'm not getting sniped through smoke/foliage from too far away I'm comfortable with it having it's place. It'd also be nice if limbs were less noticeable so if your foot is sticking out you're less likely to be spotted without your knowledge.

Yeah, I don't know that I've ever been killed with the 320 (but I play mostly conquest). The M249 with IRNV though, different story.

Another nerf could be special camuflage that hides you from IRNV but makes you run slower (for example). This way stealth gameplay will be back - with suppressor you are not visible on the map for mortars and with camo you are not visible for IRNV.

I think it should be nerfed to be more sensitive to sources of light. It is an IR scope designed for Night Vision...hence the NV in the title. Its not strictly a thermal scope. If it worked the way it does now for the night maps and indoors it would be fine, but the second anyone is indoors looking out or have an explosion nearby they should be blinded. Its sensitivity at range or when someone is hiding in a bush should be toned down also.

Really? I should check whether I have it. Is it unlockable camo?

I was wondering recently why some players are much much less visible then other. This is the reason, probably.
