I just bought Gankplank today. Below are the first 3 games I played with him.
Yea I think I'll main him for a while.
Just starting to get into LoL. So far I like it. Got Nasus with IP to main on, and seems to be a good beginner's choice. The AOE spell he has vacuums up XP like nobody's business. Any other recommendations for beginner players.

I like the AOE spell because you can cast it so that it will hit every member of a mob wave, and you get xp no matter who kills them. Like a set-and-forget.New myself but I am not sure whether what you are saying is correct. It seems like you get a lot more XP/IP for killing champs than for killing trash. For killing champs AoE spells are fairly useless unless we are talking Corki's Big One rocket.
In my limited experience at least in co-op vs. AI games laneing and jungling abilities don't really matter. All that matters is how well you are able to consistently kill champions without to die yourself in the process. From what I have read and based on actually playing I find that ranged Attach Damage carries are preferable since they are actually able to kill a bot without to get killed themselves (unless you get greedy).
Obviously Ashe is a good choice although depending on how fast you load she will be taken. I have played Tristana for a few games and it's a bit of a mixed bag, but she is awesome at pushing the lane. Ezreal is very good although he's difficult to farm enough gold to buy the stuff you need since his non-burst dmg is rather low. Ezreal is very awesome for killing champs while laneing mid-game but once the lane towers are down I found it to be difficult to reliably kill champs. Also played a few games with Corki last night and I love the gnome. Takes a bit of practice but so far I see the best potential for getting XP especially late in the game.
Haven't played more than 10 matches on either of them so take that into consideration.

I do get consistently OWNED, HARD, by Yi. Especially at high levels.
you don't need to attack minions or neutral creeps to get xp, you only have to be in the vicinity when they die.
Also, if Yi starts building up too fast in your game, get a thornmail asap and recommend it to your team - you'll have a much higher chance of surviving...
Yep -- if there are lots of AD auto-attackers like Yi, Olaf, Tryndamere, Ashe, KogMaw... thornmail is your best buddy. Granted, it's never enough on its own, but it can make the difference many times.
Kog's W and Madreds do not get reflected by Thornmail.
And while we're on the subject, most of Olaf's damage is true, no?
Let's think about this ...I want to create a guide useful for people new to League of Legends as well as experienced players. I was wondering if people have any ideas to help pitch in.
Just went 23/4/8 with Teemo.
You're going to have to do better than that Bonky.
Played some more last night and didn't have a good experience really. Made it to summoner level 5 in co-op games where I had to listen to people whine about how much of a noob I am, about the folks who go afk, etc. etc., haven't seen so much whining since, I don't know, like ever.
Bought Tristana earlier today, can't play cause NA server is down now on a Friday night.
Overall not confidence inspiring
Sadly... 99% of the game you will hear people whining and saying noobs, or going AFK, or just leaving .... it's the worst thing about LoL since it's community seems to be majority based on the WoWheads whose mommies wouldn't pay the $15/month anymore.
Last night
Game 1 - Twitch: 41/10/4
Game 2 - Twitch: 38/2/8
Game 3 - Teemo (bastards wouldn't pick a mid, so had to switch it up): 34/4/11
Done
Against bots or?
If not what ELO? Because twitch is a easy counter, grab an oracle, focus him down, he's s uper squishy and drops fast if anyone focuses him.
People who say stealth is easy to counter don't factor in the cost of countering it, the fact that their counters can be countered like you said, and that oracles/pink wards typically cover a very small portion of the map. If a good stealther knows where the pink ward is in a lane, he can usually still gank the lane. If it's in the middle, just gank from the river bush like everyone else and he won't see it coming. If it's in the river bush, stealth into the side bushes and gank from there. If he pink warded both, he's spending 250g every 3 minutes.
Luckily since the eve nerf, I'd say both of the main stealthers are relatively balanced around how good stealth is. Eve's probably got nerfed a little too hard, but I'm okay with that.
Well personally, it's prolly just the type of characters I like to play, but in a game where stealthers have racked up kills (IE twitch) I'd just grab thronmail + oracle, and watch him kill himself or close the distance with jarv or something.
He's very squishy as most don't build any defense or hp.
Just haven't seen a good twitch in a loooooong time, hardly anyon eplays him these days (at least in games I get) and eve was pretty much nerfed into a character no one wants to play anymore.
