doubt it will require origin, though i'm sure its going to have added benifits by using it like external friends list or what not. i'm sure it will use punkbuster since punkbuster and VAC are the only two anti-cheat programs worth a damn and PB is way better than VAC.
 
I don't know how any FPS fan can look at that footage and not feel their hearts flutter, at least.

Absolutely no way that game is going to be anything less than epic and ass kicking.

I smiled a very happy smile when I saw him sitting at a PC to play the tank demo, with mouse and kb. The tank demo itself was amazingly epic in my eyes.

Yeah they showed several videos that had been prerendered which you can find on the BF3 site, and then they had a live play through of a tank rush on a base, the play through was done on a PC.

The feed wasn't the highest quality from gametrailers so it's a little hard to be 100% on this, but the game looks fucking astonishing, I don't know if it's true DX11 effects going on or if it's more just really well done art assets, sound etc, but the game just looks fucking amazing, I'm still on an adrenaline high from watching the trailers tbh.

It looks like the destruction has been taken to the next level, the animation system has been brought up to match the quality of the sound system which is quite frankly nothing short of amazing, the graphics look beautiful.

Seriously the whole game looks absolutely stunning.

I hope they recorded this section they played live and upload the video of it to their site, I'd love to see this in HD, best looking game I've seen in so long. It has the tank rush, it has the missile bombardments, it has the thermal vision battles through smoke and it has the overhead player controlled airstrike from what looks like a C130, it has what look like warthogs doing strafing runs dealing death from above.

Yeah a cut down 24 player version with crappy graphics

If you want the true 64 player experience and the best looking graphics, you need a PC :)
 
The lighting in the tunnel scene with the rocket is amazing....the environment is amazing......the whole game is amazing!

/ready and waiting to upgrade my videocard :D
 
once BF3 comes out, all game developers other then DICE can just give up and turn in their 2 week notices. we don't need anymore games after this.. :p lol

It's going to set a new bar, a new standard of quality which actually exceeds the consoles capabilities, this is what is important in bringing quality game design back to the PC, we need to show other developers that we'll support those who care about the platform, BF3 is going to rake in the sales, everyone I know is pre ordering after seeing the E3 videos.

My prediction was always that this would sell like a TCH and hopefully revive the PC platform, and that looks like an ever increasing possibility after these new vids.

Yup, it's almost a "tradition" when these games street to have a few weeks of technical difficulties along those lines.

Your right, everybody I know is pre-ordering this game, except for a console. The hardware is just not out there to push the numbers, if it was then they would leave this as a PC exclusive. I am in the same boat that probably (whether they admit it or not) lots of other people on this forum are in....I am a PC gamer who's friends are now all into gaming...on a PS3 (in my case). So I will probably make the choice of getting it on PS3 so I can roll with my friends....rolling with my hommies makes for a much more enjoyable experience I don't care what the PC offers in terms of penis enlargement.

Looking forward to it regardless.

You're not just giving up the awesome visuals and such. I forgot what the player cap gets dialed down to. Way less than 64, I know that much.

I think the only thing they've released so far is those SP trailers have been running on a single GTX580 but no word on RAM or processor or what the demo PC was at E3.
 
Sweet mother of god.

Every drop of info I get on this game cements me more in my belief that this will be, without a doubt, the best multiplayer game ever made. Thank god my wedding is before the release of this game or I'm not sure I'd make it to the ceremony. Can't wait to come back from the honeymoon and build a brand-spanking new diesel rig just for this game.

What did you guys think of the draw distance on the tank demo? It looks pretty far and I don't see much pop in, but it is hard to tell.
 
un-fucking-believeable....blown the hell away....i will honestly say that i had tears in my eyes after watching that....just incredible.
