So, I decided to send him a message on youtube with a link to this thread. This was the message I sent:

When you come out with valid reasons instead of just saying I'm wrong and how you agree with everyone who says I'm wrong and then never give any valid reasons either, then try messaging me.

Until then this barrage of I'm wrong just to hate because your jealous or for whatever reason, is ceasing to happen between yourself and me.

The more I listen to this guy the more I think he's just a clever troll.

His "Xfire Retards" post first claims that ubisofts servers went down for an extended period of time somewhere along the lines of a week (9th through 16th?) And that it effected everyone, actually this is false and easy to confirm, it was something like the european servers only and for a much smaller time frame, ubisoft claim a few hours most peoples actual experience was something like 9-12 I think.

Then he goes on to say that people he's taking to on Xfire are retards because they told him they had a legit copy of the game, he thinks this can't possibly be true and so they must be hackers...facepalm.

No one can be this consistently stupid/wrong, he has to be a troll.

I'd think that too except I've really run into people that are just like him. They can't be told or taught anything because they believe they are right.

He's so full of crap. People were telling him why he was wrong until he disabled comments on the video, he just deleted every comment that disagreed with him. Then he started telling people to stop disagreeing with him.
 
That video should have come with a different notice at the start instead of one about piracy how about giving the number for the suicide hotline as it would be more useful after watching that (which I could only do for about 20 seconds).

I am not sure what that accent is. And being from California I resent the other comment. But resentment aside I agree with you :D

Sounds more like Mass. to me. I'll be honest though, what it really sounds like is a speech impediment. I'd love to hear him say something like "That's a really round rubber ball."

It is a northern accent. As others said, probably from Massachusetts or some place like that. Southern and Texas accents are VERY different from what you heard in the video.

Most of the people in this thread are indeed wrong because instead of treating the situation more reasonably and maturely, he's being made fun of and mistreated. This is exactly what he is saying.

Please, tell me how I was treating him unreasonably or without maturity? All I said is that he should stop posting misleading information. If anyone is being immature it is him by asking for me to actually validate my claims in that his information is misleading, but instead of giving me that chance he just blocks me.

I'm going to msg him on youtube and politely point out where he's wrong (yea that's going to take a while) and also give reasons and back up my comment with evidence, I want to see if this guy is truly closed minded or is actually open to being corrected if the circumstance is right.

I'll post back my results :)
 
I really hope this guy is a troll. I bet he works at BB too and sell's people computers based on this "life advice". I remeber My freind took me to best buy to get a i3 laptop and the guy there looked me straight in the face and told me they needed $100 extra to optimize thee laptop and that included unlocking the cores, I almost spit in his face.

He might be a troll, but like others have mentioned don't be surprised if he turns out to be really legitimately dumb.

Back when I worked for Earthlink we would get calls from people like this every now and then. They know just enough to be dangerous, usually FUBAR'ed their settings so bad that they finally had to call tech support to get their interweb fixed. Of coarse they'd never admit that the problem was their fault while tech terms are regurgitated non-stop from their flapping jowls.

Pretty much the true definition of a narcissist at it's nerdy worst. This guy is truly so far from [H]ard he is [L]ame.

There has been some controversy around a few of your videos in the hardware/game enthusiast world, I know you got in to it with the guys at OCN and there is a thread posted on Hardocp about your videos as well. There's a lot of people being rude to you and you've dismissed their corrections because of it, so I thought I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and take some time out to explain a few things and hopefully set the record straight.

"You should have the following, a graphics card that has it's own power supply" - No graphics cards have their own power supply, I assume you mean they need to be connected to a Power Supply Unit (PSU)

You said "If you plug a graphics card in that doesn't have it's own power supply, now you're adding even more work to the CPU and it can cause your games to screw up" - This comment is wrong, whether or not your card requires an external power source wont effect the amount of work your CPU does. The only time the CPU does more work is when you render graphics in software, no discreet graphics cards cause this irrelevant of whether they require external power or not.

"Now you're putting 2 power supplies in your computer" - You're mixing "power supply" with processing power, you repeat this kind of error several times.

"Power Box" - No such thing, you mean Power Supply Unit (PSU) again you make this error several times through the video.

"People think that by overclocking your computer you can turn a dual core into either a tri core or a quad core processor" - Who say that? You can however overclock and provide an equivalent amount of processing power if you're able to push the CPU hard enough.

"All overclocking does is make your processor work faster" - Yes this is the whole point, overclocked hardware runs faster and allows for faster FPS in games.

"90% of the time you do that you're going to overheat your computer" - Where does 90% come from? This is just made up. Lots of people overclock their computers without issue because they apply sufficient cooling, or the stock cooler is good enough to deal with the excess heat.

"With that screen resolution you have to go with a lower Hz" - Actually your refresh rate has nothing to do with your resolution, only with older CRT monitors was there ever any correlation. With modern LCD monitors they all either run at 60hz or 120Hz, monitors boasting 75Hz actually don't, when 75Hz is selected the monitor drops one in every 5 frames to maintain a 60hz refresh rate.

"Anti-Anti-Stalling" - No such thing, I think you mean Anti-Aliasing.

"Run the game at whatever screen resolution your computer has" - Higher resolutions cause lower frame rates, if you have a high res monitor and a slow PC then lowering your screen resolution will help frame rate.

"They don't install the excess video drivers that go with that game" - Games don't have specific drivers, only hardware has specific drivers. The VCRedist is a visual C++ redistribute package, this is NOT a video driver, and should be installed by the main game installer. You will only usually have problems if you cancel the install of this when it pops up during the game install. Again you mix this up with DirectX, DirectX is also not a "video driver" and again DirectX is installed when you install the game, the games installer calls the DirectX setup automatically so unless you cancel the installer this isn't necessary.

"They're specific video drivers that go with the game" - No such thing, drivers are not unique to games, sometimes they contain fixes for bugs in games but no one driver package is for any one game, the best advice would be to simply keep your drivers up to date by visiting www.ati.com or www.nvidia.com

"Stop trying to use DX9 on Vista, Vista is DirectX10 end of story" - Wrong, Vista has always supported DX9 and all previous versions, it has a custom build of DX9.0c specifically written for it called DX9.0L

"If you install a game, reboot your computer" - This is unnecessary unless you're specifically told to do so. Any installer package that requires a reboot to function correctly will instruct you to reboot.

There has been no controversy about any of my videos because the only thing i said was Ocing shortens the life span of the processor that was oced even if you know what your doing and do it right.

which is fact... and that's all I said.

Anyone else making all these comments did so on their own and has no beariing on anything I said because what everyone here is saying is all things I never even said and nor do I care quite frankly.

Anyway again the only thing i said was it shortens the life span of the processor being over clocked...

There is no further discussion or what any of these ass monkeys from OCN are saying.. They made crap up, then said i said it.

There has been controversy because OCN aren't the only community who are discussing them, there's also a thread on the hardocp forums dedicated to discussing your videos.

I dont know most of the OCN arguments specifically I've not followed their discussion about this, I do know that the video I watched was full of inaccuracies hence what I pointed out in my last PM to you.

Anyway just try looking some of this stuff up, if you find yourself to be wrong anywhere please correct your video, giving out bad advice online can cause people problems and I know your intentions are good so keep it up and just work on your accuracy :)

Got proof, what exactly is wrong...not one person is saying any specifics and why and where any data from official sources (OCN is not an official source)

Anyway, all anyone keeps saying is I'm wrong, I'm wrong, I'm wrong but yet there are no specifics with backed up data.

I'm a systems administrator, database administrator and web developer by profession, I'm 26 and I've been working as an IT professional my entire adult career, I'm also an avid gamer and have been since a small child and have built many of my own PCs from scratch and helped many others. I run my own PC gaming website where I deal with gaming PCs and issues, and I've also done extensive game modding for popular engines like unreal engine.

I know for a fact that a lot of what you said in your video is wrong, I outlined the basics in my original PM to you. I have no agenda other than to help people and it's bad when others spread mis-information, it's good that you want to help but you need to be accurate otherwise you're helping no one.

I'm sorry you can't admit you're wrong, you have a massively clouded judgement and as long as you refuse to reanalyze your position and accept that you might be wrong, you're never going to learn anything.

I never made anything up, in fact in my original PM to you I quote specific sections of what you say directly from the video and I outline why you're wrong.

Dude if you want more specifics then just ask, I'll happily provide sources of information to back up my claims if that's what you require. All my points are valid and shouldn't just be disregarded.

Do you think it's some huge coincidence that everyone is saying you're wrong? The whole world isn't agianst you, but if you speak out on youtube about these sorts of issues and you're being inaccurate, people will call you on it.

It's really nice of you to point him in the right direction, but after reading his replies along with yours.... He has GOT to be legitimately an Idiot. I mean hey if someone gave me pointers and indicated which things I'm wrong at.. then I'd correct myself.

Any person in their right mind would have seen what you've pointed out on each of his statements and come to the conclusion that he was in the wrong.. But it appears as though he does not want to accept that he is wrong, regardless of how others, including yourself, have politely explained to Problemslver88.

He probably thinks he invented the internet.. or perhaps believes himself to be a major technical expert... no joke here guys, I mean, there are people that really believe themselves to be something or someone else.. I've seen crackpots that still believe they are in the Vietnam War or think they are a medical expert like this one customer I had when I used to work in a video store. One day, while working, she was browsing around the store, and I was just having a conversation with my boss, telling her I had a major headache for all the stress at school. The lady overhead me and freaks out and goes, "stay away from me, I don't want to catch it!" My boss saw I had such a dumbfounded look.. like.. wth was that supposed to mean, was she just joking? This customer really thought headaches are contagious?!?! The next day, same customer comes by, this time around, she comes in the store with those thick rubber gloves that one would use for heavy duty cleaning. My boss asked the customer why wear those gloves, and she ends up telling my boss "I don't want to catch his headache." I thought that was outright idiotic, and I tried to explain it to the customer as politely as I could, but she just wouldn't accept it and believed herself to be right.

I think that rules out troll, a troll would just keep at it. I'm also inclined to think there's something wrong, he lack some pretty basic mental abilities like pattern recognition. Who on earth doesn't question the "facts" they know when many people are all telling you that you're wrong? Surely he recgonises that has meaning....amazing. Anyway I tried :/
