Forza 3... Who's Getting It?

It's worth mentioning that you can get temporary RRoD caused by power fluctuations. Doesn't always mean a dead 360.

It will be interesting to see how well they do it though. I would rate Forza's touch up jobs as poor because some of the older cars look awful.

Some of the cars carried over from GT4 into GT5p look like dung as well, so I suspect it will be the same thing.

The NSX is old, but I think it still gets some love, it was the Forza 1 cover car and one of the cars in the Special Editions NXE theme. They also have like a bunch of different versions of this car in the game so its not a lack of love.

The game says 3.2L 276hp for a 1997 Acura NSX, but 1997 was the first year for the 3.2L 290HP engine, up from 270HP 3.0L of previous years. Now the Honda NSX (JDM) was rated at 280ps which is probably 276hp, but in reality its the same car and engine and it wouldn't be branded an Acura. They probably got the specs wrong because they just copied the stats from the Honda version of the car in the game.

The Honda NSX-R GT is also wrong, but I can't really blame them for making it better then it is. They made it 2595lbs, but in reality its a NSX-R with a body kit, so it should still be ~2800lbs. The R GT version of the car was made in very limited quantities (5?) just to allow the Super GT race car to make aero dynamic changes under the Super GT rules.

I believe the European NSX was 276 HP ?maybe that's why there is a difference, depends on where they based the model from :)

Yeah, there's been some confusion as to which model they chose for a number of cars (for instance, the confusing years used for some of the Imprezas).

There is no such thing as a European Acura NSX. Acura is a brand name only used in North America by Honda. The European version would be a Honda NSX. 276 HP or 280PS was the Japanese HP limit from the old gentlemen's agreement, so cars are rated lower in Japan then they are in other areas even if they are exactly the same.

They did, just only the model you see in the car selection / photomode / car porn screen. :)

Sure doesn't look like it...

In Forza the 97 looks too boxy. The rear bump looks too square and extended. The 1997 is also sporting 1991 exhaust tips. The tire thread look good though.

Keep in mind the NSX has been the same car since 1991. They update the drive train to 3.2L & 6 speed in 1997. In 2002 they updated the front bumper, added fixed headlights, side skirts, updated tail lights and updated rear bumper. A 1991 NSX can be updated to look the same as a 2002.

I was talking about the actual models vs Forza 2 (and ingame). I don't know about the individual models to comment on any of that stuff.

Since you guys are comparing model's HP and such, has anyone noticed that the neon SRT-4 has 274HP & 280ish Ft/lb where the real model only makes 230hp & 260ft/lb of torque stock.

Yeah for real, Dodge highly underrated them but yeah 230hp stock.

Also, why not use the updated 05-06 RSX Type-S other than laziness by T10. The 05-06 looked better and ITR parts helped it produce another 10hp.

+1 they also used the AP1 S2000 vs the later model AP2. It would be nice to have both since the later had a 2.2L engine but only 8000rpm redline (down from 9,000).

Does anyone else play between 9am-3pm CST? I work nights, so I have to play early in the morning. If anyone wants to get some friendly MP going this week, send me a msg. Gamertag is NismoGrendel.

Bought FM3 a few days ago. Been playing a bit of it. So far I have to say that the music selections sucks compared to FM2. The new layout of the events takes some getting used to, I still do not like it really. The marketplace idea is cool but I wish you could sell for real MS points (probably will neer happen).

Rewind feature is great although I hate that little stutter before the freeze frame resumes.
Auto upgrade feature is nice. The game is too god damn long, I don't have time to do everything manually.

In the U.S., in Europe the AP2 still has the 2.0L and in Japan, the AP2 didn't get the 2.2L until 2006.

Picked it up and started playing a bit last night. I really like it so far and look forward to taking my time to get through all the races and collect all the cars.

Haven't dug through all 52 pages of this thread, but hows this game for more casual racing fans? I love cars in general but I don't know all about gear ratio tuning and stuff like that.

You'll like it. The biggest change from FM2 is that overall the cars are MUCH easier to drive. Assists on, assists off, whatever. Also, as much as it's branded a "noob tool" the rewind feature is really handy. Mess up a turn? Go back in time and try again. Don't know how to take a section of the track correctly? Keep rewinding it over and over and practice. Fantastic. Now if you struggle with the corkscrew at Laguna you can play it 10 times in two minutes instead of having to wait an entire lap to try again.

Damn it. You just sold me on buying ANOTHER game. I guess I can wait until it's cheaper but screw it. :D

Restarting all the time for me was something that helped me with my lines. The rewind is only supplemental which will have no influence in online racing.

My copy was bad..... forgot to mention this.... Got the limited edition, brought it home, opened it up, the first disc has a deep embedded scratch on the outside edge, which skips the disc about in the xbox 360, go to load the first map and it errors out. Bad disc.

/em cries

But in all, I love my new Microsoft Force feedback wheel I got the same time, cant wait to race with it! :)

I was wondering the same thing... good job if that's not from Free Run mode.

I really, really want this game, except it's not compatible with the Logitech G27. I hate playing racing games with a standard controller, and the premium Fanatec wheels are a little too rich for my blood for just one game. I guess I could buy the crappy M$ wheel, but after the G27 it will be quite a let down, plus it's just more clutter... What to do, what to do...

from what i've read you can use the G27 pedals with the microsoft wheel with a 4-pair ADSL modem phone line.

i think his point is that most japan manufactured car's are based off of their JDM counterparts, instead of US spec cars.

Yeah, but when did I say it was a mistake? I just said it would nice if a AP2 S2000 was in the game, which it is not. I also did not specify the year of AP2 since Japan and Europe eventually got the 2.2L. ;)

they may not have a reason to add it, because you have displacement upgrades....
