Forza 3... Who's Getting It?

Oh, i just preordered mine last weekend.
I figure, i dont have a usb drive yet and they are around $10 and im sure if that other stuff is ever DLC, with good ol' m$, it will probably be around $10 as well. Thats my way of oking the extra $20

im sure my forza drive will probably be used for pron since ive already got a 8gb flash drive for everything else ;)

Reviews should start going up in about 4 or so hours... should be interesting.

It looks ok but even with all assists off it seemed too easy compared to gtr evo and Shift. none of the cars in the demo could oversteer even if you tried to.

For me and some others, this title is just a filler for the real deal coming out sometime next year.

The 8 player grid racing and lack of practise and qualification is a disappointment for me as was Shift with only 8 car grids. If you played gtr evo you would see how great a race is with 20+ cars.

The graphics look nice, could be better though and the customizable paint i do not care at all as i just wanna "race".

I hope to god that you can unlock cars and earn alot of credits through online racing as i cannot be asked to do career mode. I only did career mode on forza 2 so that i can unlock and upgrade my cars but career mode got boring pretty quickly.

In forza 2, when you win a race, you hardly got any credits. Its as if their was "more" incentives in winning against the ai then against real human opponents? shouldn't it be the other way round?

Like Footy games, i care more about online than offline as the AI on both counts are shocking and this review even mentions how the AI is either super easy or super hard.

Im still going to pick this up though but this is just to fill the gap for me for when the other racing game comes out.

Of those Gamespy and IGN are the only two I put much stock in (IGN moreso).

Once again, damn you 360 for getting the RRoD just before all the games I'm interested in start coming out (again....my 1st 360 did this the week Halo 3 came out). It's out of warranty this time, so I guess I'm just going to have to go out and get an Arcade jasper unit.

I'm with you here, that was my impression when playing the demo. All aids off and it was like riding a bicycle, very easy.

No problems with oversteer here.

Forza 4 is already announced for next year?

I hope to god that you can unlock cars
All cars are unlocked by default.

I got a ton of credits in the more difficult races and the longer races. No problems there in FM2.

Than Forza is your game. The online stomps any other online racing game on consoles.

GT5p has been a good gap filler for me untl FM3 comes out in a couple weeks.

Forza 3 on Metacritic... 94. DAMN...that is some serious fucking good scores.

Can I ask what sort of times you were pushing with the GT3? Because getting sub one minute is anything but easy... and it absolutely will send you spinning off into a wall if you push too hard with it.

Might that have something to do with the fact that it's the exact same track?

Take it from someone who has both games in front of them... they don't. The better lighting and reflections stand out a mile when you're actually playing, even on the old tracks.

But if its miles better than forza 2 then shouldn't that be obvious comparing like for like? Whenever people compare graphics they "normally" compare the same scene/object/level for comparison.

Shouldn't owning and playing both games on your TV be the best judge? Maybe that's just me though.

Very obvious to me when I'm playing. But really, I can't speak for your eyes JM... and we've had this discussion before. It's obvious enough from the demo which you too have access to, and who knows, if you eventually get the game you'll see it there too.

As others have mentioned, it's very easy to tell the difference if you load the demos for both and verify for yourself within game, not replay videos (ie replay videos that are created post race). I found it odd that they used all replay videos for Forza 3, minus maybe 5 seconds of actual game play. In that 5 seconds of actual gameplay video of Forza 3 they either reduced the picture to compare to multiple or cut it half to compare it to shift. However, both Forza 2 and Shift had full screen game play shots most of the video.

So I think it's fair to say Replay videos look very similar compared to Forza 2 and Forza 3 on the same track that both of them share, but gameplay there's a big difference.

Quite shocking you would even post this mate, if you actually played it mate. Obviously you haven't mate:rolleyes:
Obviously you are entitled to your own opinion, but it seams you spend more time finding a needle in a hay stack with third party comments and reviews vs actually giving your own opinion when a demo is available..

I've just been racing around in the Focus RS... and good god is it hard to get a reasonable start with it. That thing LOVES to light up its front tires.

i have given my own opinion of the demo and it does indeed look good but i posted that video thinking those video footages are from the real full version of fm3.

i am not that bothered about looks so long as the handling is fine and from the demo the handling is very easy compared to shift and other games.

why the fuck would i wanna buy this game if i diddnt like the demo at all? it has faults and theirs nothing wrong with stating them just like i do with pretty much every game i play because im no fanboy of anything.

Go search this thread, i have given my opinions of the demo ages ago mate. i certainly know what im talking about and have every right to judge the demo of this game.

Wow, less than three weeks until launch. I need to pull out the wheel and start running some laps with the demo so I'm ready for release day. Can't wait!

I have the "real full version" of FM3 and it looks as good if not better than the demo. For some reason the car models certainly look better anyway, though it may be that's just because they've paid more attention to some cars than others (the Focus for example looks great).

That aside, anyone who has been a regular of this thread for a while should be used to JM's negativity by now. It's not a new thing, nor is it going to go away.

We were not talking about MS fans. Just talking about you and your bias.

You seem to be the one with the bias response. So do you own both systems? what gave you the impression that i a person who owns and games on both consoles is a sony fanboy?

Do i have to be fully positive about this game in order to post on this thread and not be called a sony fanboy?

Actually JM you've repeatedly said how much you hate MS (because of your broken consoles and whatnot) and how much better the PS3 is. People aren't pulling that opinion of you out of thin air, they just have a reasonable memory.

Believe it or not it is quite possible to have both consoles and be a fanboy of just one.

No, but don't be surprised when people notice how negative you are about one certain game, and how positive / defensive you are about another.

But anyway, I'm done with this discussion. It wont lead anywhere.

so why do i still own a 360 then? why dont i get rid of it? why do i still use it? i also hate EA but that didn't stop be from playing fifa 10,sims 3, crysis etc etc now diddnt it?

Come on now a fanboy may own both consoles but a fanboy wouldn't spend any money on buying games for another system and they wouldn't even use it. that's a bloody fanboy.

Just because i think the ps3 is better does that mean im a fanboy too? So in order to "not be a fanboy, i must like both the MS and Sony equally and not post any negatives about a AAA title?
