Seriously. Those pictures are damn near photo-realistic.

Joystiq has two Forza 3 articles up on their site that were recently posted. One involves a new vehicle that will be in the game (the Bugatti Veyron), and the other is an interview with Game Directory Dan Greenawalt.
"The second disc contains three environments, and another 100-plus cars. What you do is actually install all the content from disc two as if it was DLC and then it automatically integrates into your game. So you can play off disc one without installing it, without ripping to the hard drive, and all the disc two content you have installed (similar to DLC) gets put into the career as AI opponents and shows in your career mode, as different races and the tracks change out."
Here's just a very small sample from the interview with Greenawalt. It's fairly long:
What about those with arcades? Where are they going to install the 2nd disk? It's also interesting how Greenwalt changed his tune.. from definitive racing game this gen to easiest to drive with enough eye candy. lol.
o dear. come on it must be a good game!!
No doubt it will. I just still have that sour taste in my mouth after they introduced F3 at E3 by shitting all over GT series, that's all. In my opinion they should leave that kind of crap to fanboys. But it's just how I feel and it's all meaningless.

GT5 should have been a launch title, or max a year in, as GT3 was for the PS2.
GT4 only just came out at the end of 2004 and early 2005. And you expect them to release a sequel on new hardware in only 2-3 years ?
That's not realistic considering its technical goals: 16 cars on track, 1080p 60fps.
Hell it took Turn Ten over 2 years to go from Forza 2 to Forza 3 and that was on the same hw and basically reusing the same physics engine.
It sucks fans have to wait so long, but I think it will have been worth the wait. You can give up and forget about GT5, but the game will be even greater for having taken so long. If it had released 2 years ago back in 07, there's no way it would have dynamic weather or damage or a million other details PD hasn't told us about the full game yet.
But it is going to have to wow me like GT1, and GT3 did. Maybe even more to entice me. (I got my PS1, and PS2 for those games). We will see.
You've had a chance to play it? Lucky bastage.I think you'll be wowed at TGS. PD has outdone themselves.

PT, you seem to be a regular in this thread. When is this game coming out?
Man, how in the heck did Stereo get GT5 already. I am totally jealous.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist, but of course you know all that, you saw the E3 conference, and you saw che's comments and his cheap shots... why bother? So saying you think your game is the best in the genre is shitting on everyone else? That's an interesting way to look at things. Show me anything where they said anything negative, ever, about GT.
hm, so those without a HDD are "forced" to buy one in order to fully enjoy F3...Install the 2nd disk of extra content where you install all of your extra content that you also get from the marketplace...on the HDD you purchased for your arcade.
I agree here, that just might have sold the game for me. Vayron addition is awesome too, it will be cool to compare F3's Bugatti to GT5'sHolden is an amazing addition to the game. LOVE IT.
Twice as better!Well, the FM team only spent 3 months per car, where as the GT team spent 6 months car. Obviously 6 months > 3 months, so GT is better.
Despite its patrician tone, there are very few caveats with Forza 3. In what felt like the finished build this is player centric heaven for obsessives and fiddlers, and a superb, comprehensive racing game fir everyone else. Forza Motorsports 3 is pure triple-X don’t-tell-anyone car porn, and every single gleaming curve has been polished to rare perfection.

So seriously speaking what are the main difference between F3 and GT?.
Mmm... angry sex.Lol. You two are the worst. You really should get a room.![]()
Actually, the Fanatec is $30 more.but for $100 more for the Fanatec Porsche wheel...
Lol. You two are the worst. You really should get a room.![]()
FM3 has better graphics. The lighting is more realistic. It runs at 720p 4xAA resolution and supports 8 vehicles per race.
FM3 has a larger scope with 8 cars on the track and 220 events to choose from. The Holden/Ford V8 Supercars and Stock Cars are nice extras.
with complete roll over physics.
GT5 physics are minimal compared to the feature set of FM3 physics.
Oh and FM3 supports Logitech DriveFX, Microsoft 360 Racing Wheel and Fanatec Porsche Turbo S wheels. Granted, you can't use the G27 wheel ($300), but for $100 more for the Fanatec Porsche wheel, you get a better wheel, and an actual Porsche steering wheel, that works on PC, PS3 and 360 (which means you can use it with GTR, FM3 and GT5), unlike the G27, which only works on the PC and PS3.
Unless the damage is far more comprehensive in the final game than what they've shown so far... no, I wouldn't say the damage model is more complete. Cars don't even "impact" with objects, there's still a force field around them which you see cars bounce off before being deformed.GT5 has rollover physics. It might not have damage on all 1000 car models, but I think you'll see the damage model is more complete. The car models are all composed of individual pieces. Forza 3's cars aren't that precise. And I wouldn't brag about an underbody texture. It's mandatory if the car is going to flip.![]()
The lighting in GT5 is more realistic. Unless you're obtuse, that's not a debatable point. It's blatantly obvious.
And in GT5, it actually gets dark. Forza 3 has no day/night cycle because the lighting is pre-baked into the textures. GT5 supports 720p X4aa. Its 1080p x2aa mode has 1.5 x the pixels of a Forza3 frame. Yeah only 8 cars. Weren't you the guy who thought it was due to the LIVE network ? It's the Forza 3 engine. If they wanted 16 cars on track like GT5, they'd have to compromise graphics elsewhere, like bump the LOD fade in from 20 yards to 10.
I've noticed that about Forza 3, it's quite aggressive with swapping out low res textures in the immediate forground. However the distant scenery looks great.
Larger scope with less vehicles/tracks/events ? That makes no sense.
And yeah a handful of Australian/American car models are equivalent to a NASCAR and WRC mode.

GT5 has dynamic weather physics ! When the track is wet, it affects traction etc.
That feature alone trumps any trivial "check box" feature like roll cage encumbrance. LOL the Forza 3 fans went rabid for that. Actually we don't even know if GT5 doesn't have it, but we know F3 doesn't have dynamic weather physics. The developers confirmed there is no weather or night racing in Forza 3. They've really backed off the cocky attitude at E3. They'll have the baton for about 2 months, or however long it takes for GT5 to release. Hopefully Kaz roundhouse kicks Dan Greenawalt in the face as payback for the "bitch slap". what a joke.
Translation: X360 is proprietary and has an attitude of extracting maximum profit with peripherals while the PS3 supports standard USB peripherals. I wouldn't buy a G27. It's a ripoff. Right now you can get a G25 for £99 with free shipping. Let's be honest, 99% of consumers are not willing to spend $400 on a fanatic wheel. It's a valid point. Basically X360 gamers are stuck with low end junk wheels or the most expensive mass produced brand on the market. I'd certainly like the choice of a mainstream "value" wheel.
mETRo made a good point. F3 is a favorite to win for online functionality, that and all the tuner stuff has always been Forza's forte. It's got to carve out a niche for itself.
edit: thought of one last pro/con. F3 has Porsche. It doesn't look like GT5 got that license.![]()
